by ShockTillYouDrop

October 30, 2012

Phase 4 Films has announced the VOD world premiere of Miss December (formerly known as Calendar Girl) on November 1st.

The thriller will be released under the Kevin Smith SModcast Pictures Presents label.

The film stars Brian O'Halloran (Clerks, Clerks II), Corbin Bernsen (The Dentist), Gilbert Gottfried and Al Snow.

A Third Poster for Texas Chainsaw 3D Gets the Saw In Your Face

by ShockTillYouDrop

October 30, 2012

Yahoo! Movies has a look at the latest one-sheet for Texas Chainsaw 3D. (Yes, this is the one we first debuted over the weekend, but we politely had to remove it earlier this week.)

This latest art once again focuses on Leatherface but plays up the 3D angle, thrusting a chainsaw in your face.

Read our set report from the film right here.

Set decades after Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from a grandmother she never knew she had. After embarking on a road trip with friends to uncover her roots, she finds she is the sole owner of a lavish, isolated Victorian mansion. But her newfound wealth comes at a price as she stumbles upon a horror that awaits her in the mansion’s dank cellars.

Elijah Wood to Star In, Produce Cooties from Saw Writer Leigh Whannell

by ShockTillYouDrop

October 30, 2012

Elijah Wood is set to star in the horror film Cooties from the co-creator of the SAW franchise and Insidious writer Leigh Whannell and Paranormal Activity 1-4 producer Steven Schneider.

Wood will also produce Cooties with partners Daniel Noah and Josh C. Waller under his new horror film production company, The Woodshed, which recently announced the films Toad Road and A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night.

Whannell co-writes Cooties with Ian Brennan – writer and co-creator of Fox’s Glee. To be directed by Ace Norton, the film begins when a mysterious virus hits an isolated elementary school, transforming the pre-adolescent children into a feral swarm of mindless savages. An unlikely hero must lead a motley band of teachers in the fight of their lives against the monstrous pupils.

The film is set to begin shooting in April 2013.

"My friend Ian Brennan and I wanted to write a film about one of life’s most universal experiences – hatred for precocious, adorable children. And so we started work on ‘Cooties,’ a film about a virus that turns school children into monsters and therefore makes it okay to beat them up with hockey sticks,” said Whannell.

Wood is also the star of the upcoming remake, Maniac, opening in 2013 from IFC.
