A recent one for me was Huckleberry Toys' McDonaldland figures. It took me forever to get the first wave only to see the line canceled after wave two figures like Big Mac, the Professor, the Gobblins/Fry Guys, and the never-before-produced Birdie the Early Bird had been announced and displayed in public. I might just go back and try getting the Remco originals now in order to complete a set.
I used to love going to a McDonald's on Gilbert Street in Anaheim that had two giant statues of Big Mac and Mayor McCheese flanking each entrance. I would always ask to have lunch there on my birthday until it was remodeled sometime in the 1980's or so. That's why I still love those characters to this day: Happy memories all around.

They were originally called Gobblins back in the 70's and were used to promote/represent McDonald's french fries. (An odd choice for the fries when compared to guys like Mayor McCheese or Officer Big Mac, who actually looked like the burgers they were named after!)
Later on, they were renamed the Fry Guys and then the Fry Kids. They still remind me more of pom-pons than anything else, though.

Kenner's Star Wars back when you only had to collect 3 films' worth of merch. Kenner's Care Bears. (Yeah, I'm a Belly Bro or whatever they call it.)

Playmates Star Trek from the 90's. They had so many more characters to make.

DC Minimates
Star Trek Minimates - I was so excited when they started branching out past TOS TV series, but the line was cancelled almost immediately after that.
Harry Potter NECA - There are a lot more characters that I would have liked to see, but if they had at least made Neville and Luna, I'd be happy.

LJN Advanced Dungeons & Dragons figures...Such a great toy line. Its too bad they didn't get to make the Snake Cave playset, the proposed character figures (like Skylla, Valkeer, Pulvereye, Charmay, Garn Gray Gaze, etc, etc...) and the other giant monsters (Like the Bulette and the Behir). Playmates Monster Force figures...I thought the cartoon was kind of fun and I loved the revamp on the Universal Monsters (at the time, I was really hoping to see Shelly Frank, the Mummy and maybe Renfield made into figures, as well as the proposed vehicles...But it was not to be). Sideshow Toys' Universal Monsters 8 inch figures...They hit nearly every monster, but they never made the Mummy, Kharis (Kharis hardly ever gets any love), Son of Dracula (Lon Chaney Jr), maybe a John Carradine Dracula(?) or Dracula's Daughter...It would have been nice to see some of the side characters too, like Renfield, Van Helsing and perhaps Dracula's Brides made into figures. Dana LJN's Advanced Dungeons & Dragons line is another must for me. The quality of sculpting, design, and paint application that went into those toys is beyond amazing. Wish we'd gotten a 3rd series made somehow 'cause stuff that good shouldn't have gone unfinished.
