I'm just about finished with season 2. I think I have 4 more episodes maybe on Netflix? Anyway, feel bad for you guys that have to wait and really hope that this drops instant streaming during the hiatus so I can catch up. From what I've heard this season is really cooking.
I mean, come on! They couldn't have exchanged a couple lines of dialogue before the end? Surely Daryl could have come up with some bit of wise-assery or Meryl could have said "hello, little brother" or something. Instead we get an extended profile shot of of the Governor.
Don't get me wrong. The first 55 minutes were solid gold. The last 5 minutes . . . not so much.
A bit of a bad after taste going into the hiatus.

Yeah, honestly I'm surprised they didn't. Kirkman has said repeatedly that they've tried to push things to where the AMC censors say enough, and I can't imagine that wouldn't have done it.

I think it did veer into comic territory... Michonne maims him in the comic (albeit severely) and delivers a severe maiming on screen just not at the level of sadistic brutality in the comic. I think both are exactly on the same level with the onscreen events staying within A) the perimeters of sensors and B) Kirkman learning form his earlier mistakes.
All Kirkman has ever said is that he regrets many things her has done in the Walking Dead comic, such as taking off Rick's hand. The TV series is also his second chance to not repeat this mistakes and veer off in a "What If...?" direction which he can't even entertain in the comic.

I was specifically referring to the imprisonment and serial snoogling. I don't think AMC would ever have gone for it, and personally, I wouldn't have wanted to watch it, either.

If you watched last night's midseason finale of The Walking Dead, then you contributed to something very special. From AMC:
AMC's "The Walking Dead" is the first cable series in television history to reign as the biggest show of the fall season among Adult 18-49 rating, beating all broadcast and cable entertainment series including "The Voice," "Modern Family," "X Factor," "Two and a Half Men," "The Big Bang Theory" and "Grey's Anatomy." Last night, the 9PM premiere of "The Walking Dead's" mid-season finale delivered 10.5 million viewers. The series encored at 10PM and then again at midnight, delivering an additional 3.6 million & 1.1 million viewers respectively, totaling 15.2 million viewers for the night.
We're exactly two months away from the return of The Walking Dead season 3 and AMC thought it was a good idea to give you a good tease while you wait. Below, you'll find a video with the cast and crew talking about what is coming up in the back eight episodes of the hit series.
"The first half of this season we established these two different worlds," says showrunner Glenn Mazzara. "The Governor and Rick and the prison, now they have found out about each other and all I can say is...It's on."
Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, The Walking Dead stars Andrew Lincoln, Laurie Holden, Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Lauren Cohan, Scott Wilson, Melissa McBride, Chad Coleman, David Morrissey and Danai Gurira. The second half of Season 3 premieres on Sunday, February 10th.
