It broke off right outta the package! Like almost all my DC Direct figures. She's "battle damaged" now.

I got Hawkman, Flash and Supes from BBTS on Monday. Super, super, super impressed with Hawkman and Flash. I never thought I'd want another Flash figure (I'm one of those that don't care that there's a difference between Wally and Barry), but I'm really digging his new 52 look. Hawkman is just pure win. Absolutely amazing. Supes is just okay. His headsculpt's expression is just kind of boring to me. I'll probably end up giving him to one of my sons or one of my nephews for Christmas.

Ham, I gotta say... your photos make me much more excited for these than any of Mattel's stock photos did.

Hawkman and Batgirl are my must haves. Maybe the Flash if I see him in person. Man, how the mighty have fallen. 20 plus figures a year at retail to half a dozen. DCUC's dying a slow death.

The Golden Age of collecting has sadly come and gone. Now all anybody wants to play with anymore is there smartphones. I wish DC Collectibles has put the yellow lines on Flash, I think that really makes it pop. Probably going to get Hawkman and Batgirl when and if they ever show up at retail. I'm not dying to have them, but they look pretty cool.

I wish Mattel wasn't so skimpy with the accessories. Both Batman and Batgirl could use a batarang or something. Sigh... Jim_Abell wrote: Ham, I gotta say... your photos make me much more excited for these than any of Mattel's stock photos did. Thanks, Jim. I appreciate that.

DCUC's dying a slow death. More DC figures are coming later next year. Wait until Toyfair for more reveals. They have already announced Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Darkseid figures. Then Mattel is also doing the Injustice figures.

True, but not very many new characters. Mostly rehashes of the A and B-listers.

... and of all the reveals so far this year between both DCU and BU I'm looking at maybe buying 4 figures this year.
Maybe.
Which is a far cry from the EVERYTHING I bought during the DCUC run...
Not a step in the right direction as near as I can tell from my vantage point.

Not a step in the right direction as near as I can tell from my vantage point. Yeah I feel the same, when it was DCUC I was all in for each wave. The new formula leaves me picking and choosing, and aside from the bat characters, I find I'm choosing not to buy more and more.

My LCS called to tell me that the DCUC Superman I ordered back in October had finally arrived. But when I went to pick it up, it was the Superman in the DC Comics Unlimited packaging.
Someone at the store said it was a different sculpt. The way he described it, it sounds like the DC Comics Unlimited line is intended to be variants of popular characters based on the design of different artists. Is that about right?
So, there are three DC lines now: DCUC (available on Matty), DC Comics Unlimited (at retail) and Batman Unlimited (also at retail). Are the Four Horsemen designing any of these?
Also, I was only able to get the Superboy Prime figure from the final DCUC retail wave. I'm guessing I should turn to eBay or Amazon at this point. I get the feeling that these last figures will not show up at retail.
Any guidance would be much appreciated.

The way he described it, it sounds like the DC Comics Unlimited line is intended to be variants of popular characters based on the design of different artists. Is that about right? Not really. First of all, that Superman is identical in sculpt. It's just a different paint job. But as far as DC Unlimited goes, it is focusing on the big name characters, but none of them are artist specific, outside of the The Dark Knight Returns Batman in Batman Unlimited. GregNYC wrote: So, there are three DC lines now: DCUC (available on Matty), DC Comics Unlimited (at retail) and Batman Unlimited (also at retail). Are the Four Horsemen designing any of these? Yes, and they're all still designed by the Horsemen. GregNYC wrote: Also, I was only able to get the Superboy Prime figure from the final DCUC retail wave. I don't think they ever showed up in Pittsburgh at all, and their distribution elsewhere was spotty at best. Regardless, that window of opportunity has closed.
