Picked up Hawkman and Batgirl today at my local Target. I was hopeful theyd be close in size to the New 52 JL figures but theyre a lil off. I was suprised (I know with Matty I shouldnt be) by how weak the figures are. I dont see them standing on display on their own for long. Thankfully the stands I use for my JLU jusssst barely work for these.
I also hit the local TRU to see what was there and found zip. Well they did have 4 JLU OMACs(!?!) on the shelf but not much else DC wise.

Are these six-figure cases that they're shipping in?
I picture something like...
3 Superman 2 Flash 1 Hawkman
3 Batman 2 Penguin 1 Batgirl
Either way, I've seen the DC Unlimited at Toys R Us for a couple weeks, but I'm not paying $20. Yesterday, I saw both lines at Walmart. Tons of Penguin and Flash. A couple Hawkman and Flash. A lonely Superman. No Batman or Batgirl.
Grabbed Hawkman, and he's awesome. Definitely a homerun for the line, as Wonder Woman looks to be, as well. He'll make for a great generic Thanagarian. I'll probably get another and pop on a repainted head from the DCUC19 Hawkman to create another random Wingman.

I picked up all the figures at my LCS, except for Penguin. I couldn't bear to spend $20 on that figure. So I was happy to find him at Target over the weekend for $16. No other figures on the pegs at Target, though, which makes me think that most people don't even want to spend $16 on Penguin.

I think I read that they have taken on more people (can't be sure for what roles or where and when I read it so may be wrong) but if so, they may not be the only sculptors working on stuff, even if it still comes out of their studio.

I got these several weeks ago. I passed on Batman as I still want to try and track down the All Star/DCUC 21 matte Batman. I am fine with the metallic Superman, though.
I actually like the Penguin. I think he fits fine.

OK. That would be the strangest place to sheath a sword I have ever seen. What the hell were they thinking?!? Glad I'm not looking for anything else from this line except the Planet X Batman and then I can sit it all out at least through SDCC's reveals.

Yes, it's a tail. Honestly, I'm just shocked that Mattel gave her an accessory. But then I I see the hook on her hinder to hold the weapon. That's gotta hurt!
