ComicBookMovie has kicked off the rumormongering following Bruce Timm's departure as head of Warner Bros. Animation, which we reported on yesterday. According to the site, Timm's reason for stepping down is to focus on a Justice League: The Animated Series cartoon set in the Timmverse, the same universe where other popular animated series like Batman: TAS and Justice League Unlimited take place

I don't know if you guys heard the news a couple of days ago that Timm was leaving WB. But this news (if true) just COMPLETELY rocks my world. New series means new toys. JLU returning from the dead on Easter weekend...I'm not very religious but this is a miracle! lol

As you said, if the news is true, this is an incredibly amazing anouncement! Even if it doesn't spawn new JLU figures, the thought of having more Timmverse Justice League is a gift in its own right! With the cancellation of Young Justice and Green Lantern, along with the loss of Clone Wars, Bruce Timm's Justice League might just be the new saving grace for Cartoon Network! Should the series also prompt Mattel to produce JLU-type figures, all the better! I guess we will all have to just wait and see.

Thanks for the link, Batfink!

Had to share once I heard! I'm also wondering if toy sales had any part in WB's decision to make this happen. Mattel's JL figure line was still a huge success story for a good number of years, and Timm's designs and storylines were essential to that success. Why not bring back the golden goose for the reboot. Now bring back Paul Dini and we are all set.

Oh No
Let the wish lists begin

I'd love to see the cartoon come back. Hopefully CN treats it better than most of the other DC toons on it's channel.
I'm not even going to start worring about figures anytime soon even if this news is true. There's so many things that could stop that from happening or at least happening in a way that we're going to like. So as for figures I'll believe it when I see it.
Really hope the show comes back though.

I'd be really skeptical about this news if it had broke just a few days later on Apr 1.

That's odd. April 1st isn't until Monday.

Holy crap.

If it's true, I'd love to have JLU pick up where it left off. Did GL and Hawkgirl get back together? What happened to Darkseid and Lex? Countless other stories that I'd love to see.

On the flip side, I'm really done collecting JLU. I finished collecting every figure during these past Holidays, have them all in my glass case, but by god, I don't have any more room for any more figures!

I'm reasonably sure this is wishful thinking via misinterpretation of sources.

But I'd be thrilled to be wrong.

I bet they're working on a series to support the Justice League movie, and Timm might have a role in that, like he did with GLTAS.

Other than that, sounds like a bunch of assumptions to me, as well.

MOD- Thread moved to the proper forum.

Guys, there's more here than just Mattel-All... Look around sometime...

BTW, guys, the original Newsarama article never said that Timm leaving WB animation just that he was stepping down from the overall producing job. Honestly, the man deserves a break and I can't think of anyone better than James Tucker to be stepping into that overseeing production job.

Seems pretty flimsy.

I would love more from the Timmverse, however. I really think Aquaman never got his due on the show. I'd like him to take his place as part of the Big Seven (like he was supposed to be in the first place).

This can't be true. The universe doesn't love us this much.

Edit: Do you know what the worst part is? That this info leaked on March 31, the day before the internet becomes completely useless for 24 hours. So we'll probably be in suspense for another couple of days over whether this is a prank or not.
