OMGosh that is a horrid figure! I hope when I see him in person he doesn't look like that picture, (like he was made back in 1921) and I hope he doesn't have that ugly puffy butter face, that is so bad... sorry for the rant, thanks for the pics though,

Seconded! Talk about Trol superman or neanderthal superman. Was so hoping we were getting this (McFarlane/NECA quality):
But we got this instead (Mattel quality) with gold paint on the chest. Whyyyyyyy...!!!! Hoping it looks better in person. The colors look different too i prefer the colors in the first image.
Also, seems like the ebay seller took down his postings with stock left. Me thinks WB or Mattel or both laid down the law and had him take it down. The other figure on ebay is in HK and the bidding is ridiculous for a fig that will be on sale by Q4 and 2 more movies to come.
Thanks for sharing the great review! Now I'll have to wait for almost a week until my figures arrive here in Brazil (I was able to get Supes, Jor-El and Zod)
Yeah, the 5 o'clock shadow doesn't really put me off but it is curious. I suppose its more of a depth thing more than anything else. The figure itself does feature a little bit of airbrush black to give some depth but its definitely not a craftsman's paint job. The USA Today shots were beautiful but horribly inaccurate to the film. I like the black wash I applied to mine since it knocks down the factory plastic and of course... these vinyl capes have got to hit the road.

I'm glad you like your figure as you've modified it. Personally, I don't like such washes since it makes the figures look dirty. It's for that reason I never got into Marvel Legends. I preferred the cleaner Hasbro versions when they eventually took over. As far as plastic vs. cloth capes, that's an endless debate. I personally prefer plastic capes since at this scale, the fabrics used never seem to look right. I'm ok with fabric capes when the figure needs to be able to sit (such as the Batman 66). That said, Hot Toys is able to produce scale accurate clothing which I admire.

Come on man. Cut the guy some slack. He might be Superman, but do you have any idea how hard it is to get a hold of Kryptonian replacement razor blades?

I know this issue is brought up every year over centuries of toy collecting, But why is someone willing to pay $70 for a Superman that will unarguably be everywhere in a month or two for $15? Just bragging rights? Or maybe the buyers live in countries/cities that don't sell toys or figures are really difficult to come by. Based on the ridiculous distribution of past Movie Masters lines, I have no doubt some figures will be impossible to find but I don't think Superman will be one of them.

I honestly believe Mattel has something to do with some of these sales at this point. It makes it so when these figures hit the shelf people see that they old for like $70 and buy them up I swear.

It's all about being the first to get one item. I already did it before. Living in Brazil, where any DCUC figure costs the equivalent to US$ 50.00, and arrives on the shelves up to 6 months later, it's not sooo different.
