So, who's getting the "lite" sub?
I would probably do it if not for the FFM.

I probably would but for a few things. 1. The FFM. WAY too expensive for figures I couldn't care less about. 2. I can't imagine DR will be able to handle it without some kind of major problem. 3. And lastly since I've started making my own MU scale MOTU customs, I'm more than content with them.
All that said, I do think it's a good thing. Allowing people that missed the original sign up window the chance to jump on board later can only be helpful I believe.

Yeah, the price is too high on the FFM plus I just think they are meh.
I don't have a problem with multipacks, but Mattel doesn't price them right. One would think that a 3 pack of figures would be a, "value pack" but they simply price them as if they were 3 separate figures. And with Mattel's increased rip-off shipping, 3 packs will cost even more this year.
I think I'd get a sub if it wasn't for these unpopular 3 packs and large beasts... fortunately, I wanted the Star Sisters... but MANY absolutely did not, So I know how it feels now.

Passing on the film action sub. So far I only like one of the ones they've shown. I already have the other two.

I guess I'm painfully out of the loop lately. What the heck is FFM?

The "lite" name these subs have been given just means that you don't get anything released in Jan, Feb, Mar or Apr nor the "sub only" figures like King He-Man and Mallah and the Brain. The "lite" sub starts the same month the FFM are released so that's a $75 set that not everyone wants.

Even though I'm not keen on the FFM, I do like the fact that they are inspired by the original Monogram model box art, But I wish they made the Attak Trak driver with "clear" goggles instead of the solid painted ones. I've decided the only way I will get this "lite" sub, is if I can secure all three original models by the 15th. If I have the models, I can justify owning the FFM. If not, I will finish the rest of 2013 as a cherry picker. Depending on how sick I get with all the "scalping" on ebay, will determine if I get a 2014 sub. I'm at the point where I have to accept that Matty has me buy the gonads if I want these figures. I surrender.

I actually like the Star Sisters. Well except Jewelstar. Hate that one. But the others I think are great. But then again, I only paid like $25 shipped for them. Your point about the FFM is right on. It's simply too much with a regular monthly figure added on top. $100 (before shipping) in one month is way more of my budget than I'm willing to spend on MOTU. Especially if I don't care about the figures.

I think the FFM look great and I'm looking forward to getting them. I can't blame anyone for not liking the price tag though. I wish Mattel had taken the years total and broken it into 12 equal payments, that way we wouldn't have heavy and light months. 3 pack month would be more of a celebration... The thing about the FFM is, while they are obscure, there were threads about them in various forums with fan art and people commenting like "That looks great! Make it so Mattel", and "Wow, I really wish these had been released when I was a kid", etc. So we can't really blame Mattel for misreading the fan base and actually making them. Both the Star Sisters and the FFM would have been horrible to get as singles, way too many slots taken up, and running the risk of only getting one or two of the 3 would suck. I think both sets would have been better off as exclusives though. I mean, imagine both the Star Sisters or FFM replacing Vykron as last years SDCC item and I think they'd be much more popular.

I also agree that certain groups of figures should be sold together. I think Blade, Gwildor, and Saurod would be the greatest three pack ever! ... and the Cosmic Key is already sculpted. I'm not a huge fan of the 1987 film but... I think those characters are very cool!

I'm assuming you've seen this by now, but just in case... http://www.actionfigureinsider.com/main ... es-previewI'm cool with Stonedar and Rokkon, but there are a lot of other characters I'd rather have first. I'm also kind of disappointed that we didn't get the female rock person that appeared in the Filmation cartoons.
