Saw these today at WalMart. Canada usually gets stuff later than you guys. They didn't really tempt me at all, I'm happy with my Iron Man 2 figs.

Broke down with the sale at target and got the mark 42 armor swap type figure, because I figure I might as well have the main armor from the movie in that scale.
I cannot believe there won't be a decent version of these characters this year! IM2 was not that long ago, people.
Man, I hope the MU line keeps up with the quality. Once they start cutting back on that one, I will be back to legends only.

I didn't like the lack of paint job for the Mark XXXIX Gemini figure. So I re-painted the black with dark grey and then some...

Nice! Looks much better. They really half-assed it with some of the paint jobs on these. The sculpts are nice, but a lot of details are missing in the paint. And the Shotgun armor doesn't really resemble how it looks in pics or the movie. But still, I broke down and bought the first six after seeing the film and will pick up the next 4 in June.

I have bought more of these than I would have thought a couple months ago. The $7.88 sale at Walmart helped a lot.
I have 2 of the basic and 3 of the "combiners."
I will probably get Iron Patriot as well, but I haven't seen him lately. Passing on War Machine because I already have the (superior) IM2 version.

It's a little confusing. I've tried to figure it out. Figure 7 looks to be "Striker"/Heavy Construction MARK 25 Figure 8 is Sonic Camo/Black Stealth MARK 16 Figure 9 might be MARK 41 "Bones" - the Mark 42 painted black Figure 10 is Crosscut - he doesn't seem to match any of the armors - my only guess is maybe it's MARK 17 Heartbreaker I have the art of Iron Man 3 and they have a picture of 42 armors in it! But I still don't know which one matches that Crosscut figure. I don't know what Boxer or Thumper are, but one of them must be Striker. I guess maybe Boxer is Crosscut but we'll have to wait and see. That still leaves the Silver Centurion to be made, along with the 3 big guys - Red Snapper, Hammerhead, and Igor (Hulkbuster), if they indeed make a third wave.

I wasn't going to get any of the IM3 figures but I saw the first wave of basic figures and decided what the heck, there were only 4 in the first wave and at $5.88 at Walmart, who cares? Still, no idea when or if any other waves are coming out and it seems rather sad to have just those four figures. I've looked for any announcement for future waves and come up empty. It seems really stupid for the second biggest movie premiere in film history, to have so few toys available.

Just wanted to say there is a kid's book called Iron Man 3 Suits of Armor which is only $4. It has back and side views of some of the armors from the film. Thought it might give you some ideas if you were going to repaint any more of the armors. The Iron Man 3 Art book is pretty cool but that one's $50.

Got my first of these last night, the Cold Snap armor. I think they will look good in a Hall of Armor display, and I kind of like the reuse of the IM2 repulsor accessories, especially in new colors. I also think these might be good for repainting. Anyone tempted to do a repaint competition?

The second wave of Assemblers is out (#7-10). A couple of them look pretty good. I got the sonic camo one. This was at a Walmart out in AZ.

and here is the hat trick. Looking at the Ghost Armor in the middle, it has the round chest piece and built up shoulders of War Machine, making me wonder if they were planning a 5 PoA War Machine. CCC.

Found two new TRU exclusive Iron Man 3 Assemblers yesterday and one of them is the Red Snapper with the extended arms. It actually looks pretty cool and seems to be a new sculpt, not a repaint. The one that comes with it might be a repaint of an earlier Assembler, but it still looks cool. They come in a two pack with lots of extra accessories. Sadly, the price was a bit jacked ($23), but I felt it was worth it to get at least one actual movie canon armor. Looks like there might be a little more life left in this line yet.
