Which way are you leaning, fellow AFIers? I honestly haven't made up my mind yet. I kinda like getting my monthly fix, but the shipping rate is a significant expense.

I'm not subscribing until I know what some of the figures are. So I'm waiting for SDCC.

After getting a DCIE sub for 2012 and 2013, I have decided to not get one for 2014.

I'm getting the sub again this year, but will be going for the monthly shipping. I just know that whatever I save in combining the shipping to quarterly, I'll lose in customs charges as the combined parcel will be bigger and have a higher overall cost. The single figures seem to slip in under the radar of customs and so just come through normal post. Plus, I fear for QC issues with the figures being quarterly, as, if the first figures is broken, they may not have any customer service stock left to replace it with by the time you get it delivered and find out its busted.

I was going to write a post, then realised I could just quote E8B's and leave it at that.
Quarterly shipping racks up too much in VAT and customs fees to make the reduced postage worthwhile.
And I've bought mine. I'm far too easy.

I'm still weighing the options. I'll have a minimum of 4 pieces shipping every month so it would be a huge chunk every quarter for that at once, plus I'm holding out to see if there are any other subs that haven't been announced yet.

Like some of the others, I'm most likely not re-upping for a 3rd year with the DCUIE sub. It has been a fool me once, fool me twice with Matty. If I did, I'd most likely go monthly. As Elvis pointed out, you have a issue with a figure and it is sold out you are pretty much screwed. I think if Matty is going to implement anything, it should be across the board to insure that doesn't happen.

That's a good point. More food for thought. the following is from the mattycollector.com forms: posted June 19, 2013 08:27 AM There are concerns regarding the new Quarterly Subscription offering regarding replacement figures. There will be a percentage of our reserve inventory each month specifically for our quarterly subscribers for replacement figures. It has been confirmed that quarterly subscribers will also have their inventory held for safe keeping until it is delivered at the end of the quarter for shipping.

If I decide to re-up (I want to but not sure I can do it financially now that my employment has taken a downturn), I will opt for Quarterly.

They better make a real impressive reveal at SDCC if they seriously want many of us to re-subscribe, or to attract newcomers. If it's just the predictable Ice (to go with this year's Fire) and the retail-canceled Damien Wayne, then the sub may not even hit its 1st level goal. They need to show (or at least name) 2 or 3 figures with some "wow factor" attached to them.

If they show me Mera, Tempest, or Aqualad I will re-up immediately. Otherwise, I agree with the rest of you.

I've had the 2012 and 2013 DC sub, but I'm calling it quits for 2014. I hope the line and the sub survive, but I'll be cherry picking.
