Well, once I started with DCIH, I never really left 3.75" - 4" land. These figures are new to me, and if they can keep the price decent, they'll be new to a bunch of kids whose parents never wanted to blow $16/fig, too.
I totally see where you're coming from, but if Mattel can get 4" DC figures to sell, it will be a good thing.

I see what you're saying. I think you're saying that if the 4 inch line does well it could open the door for more. But that hasn't been the case lately with Mattel (and/or retail buyers). Batman Legacy was short-lived. Young Justice was cut short and didn't live up to the promise ( or prospect) of delivering completed teams. The Batman and DC Unlimited lines were cut short for ...who knows. I'm sure there were some people eagerly awaiting for Cyborg or some more Dark Knight Returns characters.
And then there's DCIH, which , in hindsight, now looks like an epic success story!
I definitely agree that the Multiverse line is better than nothing. I'll buy a couple, but Mattel doesn't inspire me to "collect them all!" which could be a problem for a line's reach and longevity. Especially since it's so scattershot. Arkham City...then 1989 Batman! What's next?!....

I agree that DCIH was a success compared to other 4" lines that Mattel has done.
I hope that DC Multiverse wave 3 is the comic book related line and I hope that the line lasts long enough in the stores for us to see a wave 3.
Mattel should have stayed with the Justice League characters in the DC Comics Unlimited series instead of bringing in the INJUSTICE game characters. The video game characters probably killed the line.

I support this post 100% Now get out of my head! joeace wrote: I hope that DC Multiverse wave 3 is the comic book related line and I hope that the line lasts long enough in the stores for us to see a wave 3. And I support this one as well! My only real gripe at this point about the new line is wave selection/release order. ACO seems too 'niche' a wave to release a line on, and my fear is that it will back up shelves, leaving us wondering what could have been. Maybe enough pressure from collectors will right the course...I know, crazy talk...

besides JLU, what other 4" lines did Mattel do? JLU is not a 4" line. It is a 5" line. CCC.

JLU is not a 4" line. It is a 5" line. CCC. I think that JLU was a 4.5" line like Young Justice was. Many of the DCIH figures were 4" tall. Other 4" lines from Mattel: Avatar action figures Dark Knight movie figures Green Lantern movie figures Dark Knight Rises movie figures Batman 4" evergreen figures Man of Steel movie figures

DCIH were 3.75. GL, Batman, and Superman roughly 4" but fit into the 3.75. YJ do not, the proportions are just slightly too big. As teens they might fit the JLU scale, just not the style.

CCC. Many of the DCIH figures were 4" tall. They did range on average 3.75" to 4". That's why the GL, Batman and Superman fit in pretty good.
