Hey Guys and Dolls!
So I'm kinda sorta back into Star Wars and was wondering what everyone's advice on the best 3 3/4" R2-D2 is?
For me my favorite versions of a character usually break down this way:
Sculpt detail/accuracy Articulation Deco Gimmick
So fellow toy fanatics, gimme your reviews! Is the VOTC R2 worth the $10? Or is there another better one out there...

Yeah the VOTC one is worth $10.
If you don't want that you should wait till later this year when there will be a 2nd ROTS one, this time with sounds rather than an action feature.

I'd have to say either the VOTC one or the R2 with Holgram Leia.
I think the VOTC edges out a little bit in terms of sculpt. The VOTC one has the little cables on his "feet" as separate pieces instead of painted sculpted detail which I like.

Hologram R2 all the way. it's got the best articulation and a nice, dead on sculpt for the character. I still have an extra and I can't force myself to trade or sell it because it's just such a nice figure I can't part with it.

I like the one that came with the Tatooine back drop and had a magnetic wand that made R2 dance around on a base. He has lights and sounds and a nice dusty paint job.

Thanks guys!
I hear the Jabba's Sail Barge one is not bad either. (the one that is an R2-D2 repaint of the black Astromech.)
My only concern with the VOTC was the removable rather than the retractable 3rd leg. But I guess the sculpt and attachements make up for that...
And the fact that finding one at the $10 retail is prolly not so easy no more! HAH!

My answer, that the VOTC and CommTech R2s are the two best, is secondary.
I'm really posting just to say, Hi everyone, I'm here.
New stomping grounds, behbeh!

I don't collect SW anymore and I'm too lazy to look up exactly which R2 it is, but it's the one where you twist his head to release the third wheel. I think it also caused something lame like jets to come out of his sides too. Might have been from Phantom Menace. I thought that one had the best overall look (many R2s I've found don't quite get the dome the right shape, or the colors are a bit off or the details of his dome are a bit off). I also hate that they can't find a practical way to make his third wheel properly.
