Alright folks,
The cat is officially out of the bag as of today's ToyFare #115. Marvel Toys (formally Toy Biz) is launcing a new line in 2007: Legendary Comic Book Heroes featuring characters from all over comics publishing.
Wave One: (Fall 2007) Savage Dragon, Super-Patriot, Ripclaw, DieHard, Madman and Judge Dredd (plus a 10" Build-a-Figure of Pitt).
This is now the official thread to talk about this new line and what characters you want to see!
Jeff

Ok, I just learned via Rob Liefeld's forum that Shaft (from Youngblood) will be in Series 2.
Badrock will be the Build-a-Figure for Series 3!
Erik Larsen said on his forum that there's several characters (presumably from his Savage Dragon title given the context) in the planning stages for the line.
Keeps gettin' better and better!
Jeff

I just hope that they can embarrass Hasbro in terms of price point/quality/included extras. Any one of those would be nice to show 'em how it's done.

I'm kinda looking forward to seeing these even if the characters are no longer as popular as they were back in the 90s. I remember these comic books somehow pioneered the glut of cover variants with "holo-foil" or "chromium" covers plus the "exclusive trading card insert" galore. Wonder if they'll employ the same gimmick with the upcoming figures

Man, that Darkness figure looks fantastic (thanks for the link Jeff). I don't really have an opinion on the character one way or another, but that figure really looks incredible. If they're doing work like this on the line, I'll end up with a *ton* of characters I have zero interest in, but that look great in figure form!
Can't wait for this line.

I'm actually somewhat interested by this line, but I'm not gonna get my hopes up. Shocker has been planning an Indie line for a long time (over a year), and we've seen precisely one unpainted prototype.
Here's hoping Marvel Toys does better.
Now that the reality check is out of the way, is there any mention of scale? As cool as these look, if they're not in ML/DCSH scale I'm not interested.

Jesse posted over on the Fwoosh that we would see full line ups for series 1 and 2 at toyfair along with their list of characters and another line they are doing with this line.

I'm ALL over a Madman figure & would love to see them give us more characters from the Madman Universe.
Would also love a Clownface from Body Bags!
