Didn't a couple of guys buy up all the Valiant only characters (everything minus Solar and Magnus) a year or two back? I'd kill to get those early characters like Bloodshot, X-O Manowar, and Ninjak.

I'd buy every Valiant figure made. Shocker needs to bump up Magnus and Solar in their line.

We'll get there. You can't put everything in series 1...then there's nothing for series 2. (and beyond)

I'm fairly pumped about this line even though I know little about some of the characters due to be released. I see that Top Cow has been clever and has arranged some crossover books with Marvel so Legends fans may well bring them into the Marvel Legends fold and happily add them to there collections. Speaking for myself as a Brit I am a long time fan of any 2000AD characters so that is a big plus for me and I do have a working knowledge of Savage Dragon characters so I am definately going to buy the first wave and will probably collect them long term. I can't see this line being a huge mass market success but I see no reason for it not to do well in specialist shops and small scale at Places like Toys R Us. Only time will tell I guess.

I too would love to see some First comics characters licenced to this line. I was a big fan of Jon Sable, badger and American Flagg.

Dump Katchoo. NO ONE is going to buy that, man... plus you guys have like nearly 30 licenses supposedly, I saw the latest list and you could easily do 4 waves of 3 heavy hitters and one zombie from Deadworld in each wave(people love zombies, especially 6" ones) and still have some licenses left over for future waves, and there's more licenses out there.

Dick Tracy
Lone Ranger
The Tick

Solar:Man of the Atom
Magnus Robot Fighter
Jack Staff

ShadowHawk
Scud: The Disposable Assassin
Grimjack

The Phantom
Nexus
The Moth

Which at the pace you guys are going takes us to like 2009-2010.

Okay, so I have a confession to make...there was a time when I would have agreed with you completely. But you'd be surprised by how many fans that book has. Ones that may not even usually buy toys, but are so strongly behind the book that they'll probably be the ones pre-ordering the figure at their LCS. Nobody says that just because you like one of the characters, you've gotta buy the whole set.

...well, unless it's the BAF.

**edit**

But this is Marvel Toys section, and probably not the right place for this particular discussion. Sorry about that.

Oh man I prayed this would happen if Toybiz ever lost the Marvel license.

I'm a HUGE fan of Big Bang Comics and their characters.

Toybiz would do great to make the Big Bang characters in the Legends style since alot are based on DC Golden and Silver Age heroes.

It would be like Toybiz having the DC license in a way with figures of,

Ultiman
The Blitz
The Beacon
The Sphinx
Thunder Girl
Dr. Wierd

Some could have variants like the Golden age or Silver age Beacons and customizers would love to repaint them to match their DC counter parts.

I hope Gary Carlson and the Big Bang crew can help make this happen with Toybiz.

Does anybody have any idea what's in play from Wildstorm for this line? Clearly the "Wildstorm Universe" won't be made, but what about stuff like Danger Girls, Astro City, Ex Machina, etc? Does DCD have right of first refusal on this stuff? First crack at any licensing deals for creator owned stuff published by DC? I'd love Astro City figures which DCD is clearly not interested in.

I love everyone's lists so far. That DARKNESS figure is a must have for me. As is the Judge Dredd fig.

But I would love to see ROCKETEER as well.

I wonder if we could get them to do Wildstorm figures considering DC Direct seems more interested in doing Warcraft figures than concentrating on their own properties.

Man, that would be soooooo cool.

Plain and simple, I love that character. I always will.

(Sadly, I doubt if a figure ever happens) :(

2000 AD has some really great and VERY visually interesting characters. Judge Dredd is a legend, even over here in the US, but I really hope they get around to making some more of them, like Nemesis the Warlock and the ABC Warriors.

Nemesis the Warlock:

Deadlock of the ABC Warriors:

Luckily, Jesse grew up some in Europe and loves these characters, and has mentioned Nemesis by name. Like most of this line, I'm thinking that while some of the characters might not riong a bell in many shoppers, they'll just be too cool-looking to pass up.

Wonder if we might get a Red Sonja to go along with the Conan?

In case anyone didn't follow the link to the right to the Entertainment Weekly article, here's the Madman Photo:
