I originally thought it was cool since they could only be found at comic shops, but going into a suncoast or tower and finding them makes me think the prices could go down a bit. I'd still be a bit happier paying out the butt for DCD stuff since the sculpts really reflect the art styles they're supposed to than shelling out 13 bucks for a figure that looks like an americanized rendition of some of the most stylized characters ever. SOTA is a smaller shop (for now!) and their runs are probably about that of DC Direct (or a little more) and you get more articulation and extra heads and hands. I can see those prices and justified just for the cost of tooling alone. Julius M

I've seen them at that Gamestop over by where we ate the other day. the people in there are really nice and will look-up toy info for you on the computer if you ask'em. They might even hold you a set.
i've also seen the SF figures at the Tower Records on Lincoln.
Julius M Thanks JM! I'll check it out! I also ventured out to Sherman Oaks Galleria the other day to check out Robotoys.com. Totally overpriced import stuff, but you can get blind box trading figures singly. More useful though, was the HUGE 24hour Tower Records there. They had the biggest toy section I've EVER seen at a tower. Tons of stuff. Street Fighter, DCD, McFarlane, a TON of indy toys. SpyMagician

Yea, the Tower Records in La Jolla's great too. They have a pretty big corner for that stuff, but they don't hold a candle to this Sam Goody at Horton Plaza where they have a toy section that's nearly half the size of a regular Suncoast/Sam Goody mall location. Strangely enough, in San Diego a lot of Tower Records just barely carry any toys at all though.

Hey Spy- Do you remember what DC Direct figures the Tower in the Galeria had?
The one in Culver hasn't gotten any new DCD since the first wave of Teen titans.

Ooooh JM,
Taxing my poor brain!
Lets see, I recall them having:
Hal Jordan Spectre ($16.99, prolly why he's still there)
Justice Cheetah (the rest were sold out...)
I think there were some Teen Titans and Hush, more recent stuff...
Sorry, I can't recall the exact stuff, I was just suprised that there was even that much DCD at a Tower, and Justice being there means they are probably still actively getting new stuff...

I believe you can actually pre-order sets of the upcoming Street Fighter figures from Gamestop. I just started working at one part time. I'll check tomorrow and bring back SKU's and any other important info.
Great sight Julius!

My youngest is a big fan. He has all the regulars from series 1 and the Ryu/Bison two-pack. Only Vega from series 2 (and a Ken variant for his birthday that he doesn't know about yet), as that's all we've been able to find thus far.

Alright Street Fighter fans here is the info for series 3 at Gamestop. SKU #998806 is to presell a set of 6 figures. Included is:
Guile regular Guile exclusive repaint Sakura exclusive repaint Balrog exclusive repaint Adon exclusive repaint Gen exclusive repaint
These presell in sets of 6 only. It requires $25 down. I have no clue as to what colors the exclusive repaints will be.

As I anxiously await the release of the last wave, I'm bummed about "what could have been" for this line. As some of you know, it's now doubtful we'll see anymore SF figures from SOTA. I got my hopes up when that Urien prototype popped up, but ex-SOTA guy Jerry pretty much confirmed what we all feared:
Quote: NECA has master toy rights for at least the next 3 years (maybe longer) . You wont see any other USA toy companies making action figures from SF other than them...that means Hasbro, Mattel, SOTA, etc...
I dont have any secret inside info on SOTA...I dont know what they are doing or their plans.
I just know I was told by an incredibly reliable source that NECA has master SF toy rights and that no other american company will be releasing action figures except NECA (Kaiyodo doesnt count as they are not an american company).
If I got bad info then I got bad info...but thats what I was told.
I dont think this affects SOTAs statues though...
I was hoping we'd see the "round 5" crew in some form, since we saw the Deejay proto. Bummer.
Here's hoping the NECA figures are in the same scale/style...

I want some 3-3/4" Street Fighter figs (and, no, the GI JOE ones don't count). Palisades had some planned back in the day, but Capcom was being difficult.
:-(

Yeah, but what about them? Did they ever come out? I thought they were due last April?
Plus, I never heard anything definitive on the size. Are they 5" like Dante or 6" like the Fraulein stuff?
If they're 5" I'd consider 'em...but I'd want to see more characters. My SF guys are Blanka, Ken and Guile. To me SF aint SF w/o those 3.

These will be about 4" tall, so should look cool with the Joes
Release dates:
001 Ryu 10.15.2008
002 Teiran 10.15.2008
003 Chun-Li 11.15.2008
004 Hiko 11.15.2008
005 Zangief TBD
I agree about Ken, Guile and Blanka. And Sagat, Honda and Bison too!
