Here is our first batch of GI JOE answers from Hasbro

Q1. Is this line just for this year's anniversary or can we expect an
ongoing line into '08 and beyond?

A: You can definitely expect more heading into 2008. Based on the initial fan response we are working on plans to extend the line into next year.

Q2. Will any of the 5-pack figures be released on single cards?

A: This is something we are looking at for 2008. We want to offer these figures carded but at the same time we also want to offer new figures to keep everyone involved and excited.

Q3. Since Lady Jaye & Serpentor are due out, does that mean that a character's current status in the comics doesn't matter in terms of their likelihood of being released?
A: That is true. The 25th celebrates the past 25 years. It is not meant to be a snap shot at this point in time.
Nothing in the history of RAH is off limits.

It looks like they are taking July off for Comic Con. The next round is slated for August - questions due Monday August 13th, If you have a question post it in the GI JOE question thread.

Another month and another set of answers to AFI's Joe questions from the Hasbro Joe team.

Q1. Will we ever get something similar to the Star Wars VOTC cards where Joes are packaged in true repro vintage packaging?
(The current cards are close but: Logo is too small, silver foil instead of white, no J-hook, warning label on an outside clamshell etc.)

A: Thanks for the suggestion, we will look into it.

Q2. Is the second Cobra 5 pack an exclusive or will it be available everywhere?
A: Everywhere!

Q3. Any plans for a battle-pack or collector's set featuring the characters from this comic? (Snake eyes, Scarlett, Storm Shadow, 3 Red ninjas, Destro, Hooded Cobra Commander and Cobra Troopers)
A: This will be one of the things we reveal at Joe Con.

Q4. Any chance we could see a GI Joe line in 2008 similar to Superhero Squad/Galactic Heroes?
A: No plans for 2008…but maybe beyond.

Q5. Will the upcoming Zartan figure be coming with his "Joe adventure team" mask and be cast in the "turn green in the sunlight" plastic like the original figure?
A: Yes and Yes.

Here are the answers for October:

Q1. Will the single carded Flint be re-released in other waves?
A: Yes.

Q2: Will there be a single carded Baroness at all?
A: I would never say the Baroness is "single" …

Q3: Are the characters shown on the SDCC trading cards yet and indication of future figures in the line?
A: The playing cards at SDCC were meant to highlight the great characters from GI Joe lore…not teasing future figures.

Q4: Do you know the details for the Doc mail-in??
What will be required of fans for this one?

A: To get Doc fans will have to send in 6 proof of purchase stickers from the Comic Packs.

1-Any chance of seeing anniversary issues of the Adventure Team members Bullet Man and Atomic Man? Seeing that the Kung Fu Grip Joes are back, will Hasbro try and hit the nostalgia and bring back updated versions of classic AT?

2-Seeing the new AT versions in SIGMA 6 figures is really cool, can we expect more? If so, can you give us a hint?

Q1.Will wave 7 have six figures then?
A:Our third wave of 2008 will have 7 figures because Bludd and Wild Bill got pushed out from the previous wave.

Q2: Are Bludd & Wild Bill part of wave 6?
A: No, Major Bludd and Wild Bill were pushed back to Wave 3 08. When you see the results, you will agree it was worth the wait.

Q3:Can the store exclusives be revealed yet?
A:We plan on posting these on the GI Joe website in the coming months.

Q4: What about a Cobra mail away figure?
A: Cool idea, any suggestions?

Question-Since the tooling for the SKYSTRIKER was ruined by the FUNSKOOL people, is there any chance of a re-tooling of a simpler version of the XP-14F SKYSTRIKER? The folks over at PTE-POWER TEAM ELITE did a great job with the Boeing F-18, its simple flip down landing gear, folding wings along with 2 pilots and a sundry of accessories all for the low price of 25$. I know tooling is expensive, but cut down on the gadgetry and please put this ICONIC GI JOE aircraft back into the 25th Anniversary Line, it deserves to be there. I know the aircraft is retired from active service, its a cartoon and the skystriker was in the cartoon. Please re-consider doing this aircraft. The PTE F-18 is almost as big as a regular skystriker, just an fyi. And since its TRU only(PTE) perhaps you could work out an EXCLUSIVE deal.

Since Sgt. Slaughter is apprently impossible, would Hasbro be interested in making Super Cop? He was a Funskool character and since Hasbro has been re-making international figures in the 25th line a Super Cop figure would be a great way to get the Sarge without getting the Sarge.

Including the first two series we have already seen, how many series of Combat Heroes can we expect before they switch over to the movie theme?

Dear Hasbro,
Have you ever thought of making a new USS FLAGG playset? Would you consider the idea if I told you my suggestion would make it light-weight and portable as well as affordable?

My suggestion would be to use Gator board which it suprisingly strong and light weight and quite cheap. Gator board is used to make all kinds of durable stand-ups and advertising media and used in the making of dioramas. The new carrier could be done using large interlocking pieces. The main superstructure could be a case that opens up and allows for play on the interior section of the opening case. Very similar to the USS FLAGG, this carrier would actually be able to be adjusted in size-whether you want 7 foot carrier or one that is 14 foot, the gator board would have reversible sides to allow for extension or shortening. Simple clips would allow the flight deck to be uniform. Granted it seems large but here comes the best part, by using the plastic, free-standing build a shelfs from home depot or other, you could make an interior with flooring as well as as sections that act as a cover/skin of the ship that could be applied with adhesive velcro strips that allow for an attatchment to the structure of the shelves. Is it grandiose? Yes, but then so was the Flagg. This simple version allows fans to take thier carrier with them to a picnic, nieghbors/grandmas house and easy set up allows for play wherever. Ive used foam board that is 3/16 thick and is 4' by 8' and granted it seems huge but considering the fact that A-this is a carrier, its suppose to be big, B-its a different version than the FLAGG and far lighter and far cheaper. C-this could open up to other types of ships like a destroyer or something else. D-once finished there is always somewhere to place the toys, the shelves are already there, I have two shelves high by 3 shelves long and its quite interesting what you can pack on there, I currently have 5 PTE F-18s and 2 Skystrikers and 1 Blackhawk helicoper-that's just on the top deck. Hangar deck below is currently carrying 1 PTE F-18 and 7 Skystrikers. There is alot of room for accessories, different figures like the flight deck crew, the Boss and Lil Boss, mechanics and other hard working enlisted folk. It may be just foamboard and wild wishes but I do know its doable and considering the cost of a new FLAGG, I think it merits some consideration-One could even sell extra or special panels via HASBROTOYSHOP.COM that would make it even more detailed.

GI JOE is character driven, fans identify with the different characters, why not bring an iconic playset back into play? With the host of aircraft and other vehicles coming, a carrier play/display set would really be appreciated not only by fans but by mom/dads/housewives/girlfriends everywhere.

I'll second that. The MASS Device packs were a great concept at an excellent price point but what IS the deal with the fifth release? Its distribution has proven scarcer than the IJ Temple of Doom figures. You can't even find it on eBay on a semi-regular basis. What exactly happened here? The other four sets will be considered worthless if this one isn't produced in equal numbers.
