I'm sure this is covered somewhere but I'm lost in the flood of SDCC info... Mattel had a display case full of vintage Masters of the Universe. On the top shelf was this He-Man figure. It totally rocks! Did anyone find out what it is? Shot at 2007-08-01

It was something the 4H sculpted on their own initiative, apparently to gauge reaction. Mattel put in their display as well to see what the response is, but there's no official news in the works on any MOTU from Mattel for upcoming figures.
The 4H did confirm the staction line is continuing, though.

I hope something comes out of this.I love MOTU(80s) and the 2002 line and I was crushed when Mattel abandoned it in favor of these Staction things hopefully this a pre cursor to a MOTU:Classics line.............the 4H said they were up to their eyes in work so did they really have the time to do something like this for sport?I think not

I would really like a re-start of the line. I gave up on the last one because I didn't feel like getting different versions of He-Man, Skeletor, and Man-at-Arms. But if the figures look like these, Mattel will be definitely getting all of my paycheck

It would serve Mattel and the 4Horsemen well to come out with a MOTU/POP line, aimed at collectors, based on the Filmation designs. Lord knows the "toy line" look has been done and re-done...and yet folks still haven't seen what it was they saw on the tube.
If they sculpt their figures to look like the Filmation designs, they'll have a good hit on their hands.

I agree, since Mattel didn't offer the line to mass market a few years back I hope this is the start of a comeback for Masters of the Universe. I would certainly carry these in my store as well as buy them for myself. Come on Mattel... give us all that Eternia has to offer.

...So far, it's just being indicated as something the 4H did to "gauge opinion/reaction"... I think it may well be the start of an "annivesary" line for next year...

Yeah, I REALLY cannot put into words how badly I want THAT FIGURE! And a line in that style would be the ultimate frosting!

I seem to remember reading that the 4H wanted the MOTU re-lauch to be more articulated but Mattel balked between the extra expense and safety issues. I'm guessing that between decent sales of the NECA stactions and DCSH/7th Kingdom proving the savings in re-usable parts that Mattel might be up for something a little better than the last time. Come to think of it, since MOTU seems to be a 7" scale, if done right perhaps parts could be used across both lines to allow for smaller characters in MOTU and larger ones in DCUC... The styles are pretty much the same when it comes down to the look of the faces, hair and detailing -- why not?...
