Back when I was a kid (and dinosaurs roamed the earth) there were many more opportunities because there were more retailers. You had Sears, Montgomery Wards, JC Penny's that each had a permanent toy department. You also had local/regional chain department stores that had permanent toy departments (Macy's; Gimbel's; Frederick & Nelson; Woodward & Lothrop; etc.) plus you had 5 & dime stores like Woolworth's; Kresgee's; Newberrys that had toys. And we also had major toy retailers like Toys R Us, Child World and Play World.

I've been finding JLU figures at Dollar General ($3 for single cards, $5 for 3 packs) and of course Big Lots.

Like H the D, I spend a fair amount of time on "the hunt" and am continually surprised that it's not easier for someone like me to lay my hands on certain figures. (Lately, any figures.) I don't even mind paying a bit more to purchase figures online. But like some other folks, I can't really afford some of the online prices I see. (And before somebody tells me that I'm spending more money on gas and yadda yadda, I don't own a car.) I just wish BBTS would get that dang "Assortment 99F" in stock already. I can afford that, and it would go a long way to calming my JLU restlessness. If you don't have a car....how do you spend ANY time on "the hunt"?

Just put your parents on a guilt-trip and make THEM look for stuff. Peace, Chip

I live in the center city of Philly where owning a car is possible, but neither convenient nor completely necessary. (Plus my old car kept getting broken into). Gotta love public transportation.

I've given up on stores the last thing I found was a lightray and huntress 3 packs. And since I'm 14 and in suburbia I can't get to target much so I use the net.

Gotta love public transportation. Except for, you know, all the time it takes, per your earlier comments. Time is money.
