Ok, I know there was already a thread about the stands being available... but this warrants a new thread.
I just received my two boxed of stands.
The people who designed these, planned these, etc., need to be let go.
I am sorry. This is ridiculous. Onl MATTEL could mess up ACTION FIGURE STANDS!!!
1) WHY is it that only the FEMALE figures fit securely at all? Female figures all come with stands! (well, ok, Vixen & Dr. Light from the early 3 packs don't, but whatever).
2) WHY don't the male figures fit????
Here are just a few figures that don't fit (i just stopped trying as they fell out of the stands):
Hawkman (NOT AT ALL)
Mr. Miracle (barely)
Deadshot (NO)
WHO designed these?
The female port is great, but the MALE port (arguably the REASON these were made) is too long... the feet on the male figures either do not, or barely do fit across the gap (if you have these, you'll understand what I mean).
These are just bizarre. The peg is even incorrect in its placement in a way. The MM figures have the peg on the other side.
Plus, isn't the idea of a stand that it isn't LARGER and more distracting than the actual figure? Ok, that's a slight exaggeration. BUT, why didn't they just modify the existing stands they have been making for the female figures? This would not have been hard to do... It might have meant having two types of stand, but then, at least the figures would have been centered on the stands (these new ones are weird that way too).
I'm sorry, but this is a HUGE disappointment!! It might sound like I am being cranky and complaining, but why shouldn't I? I bought these, and was excited that Mattel had listened and made them. What's so funny is that they probably spent more money on these new style stands than had they retooled the existing ones to be used with the male figures.
Why can't this company get it together?[/b]

I have to chime in again here....these stands suck, and I wasted $30 on 50 of them....it's a mess...another reason the figures dont fit is because they are all so screwed up and there is no uiformity to paint apps or how the legs are from one figure to the next of the same figure!!
Mattel, JLU figs are really awesome, but how on earth can you screw up so many things and STANDS for Grodd sake?

ughhhh...jeeeeeeeezzzzeeeee..... So much complaining!! Look most figures fit fine, and also, they even say NOT compatible with ALL JLU figures. So just because Hawkman, or Mister Miracle can't fit doesn't mean the stands, or let alone Mattel and the designers suck, just lean em on grundy or humanite, your a toy collector you can figure it out.
Oh and for Mattel, it would be super amazingly awesome to include some o' those stands when I purchase your Gotham Criminals set come February.

Wow. I was about to order two boxes of those stands. So glad I didn't. I think I'll get those little doll stand things instead.

....of course I can still lean figs and use poster tack, but the point of these stands is to be excited about them....
when they arrive and they are crappy, its disappointing! It sucks to get excited and spend your money on something that just kinda sucks....

I'd have to agree with the OP. These stands are ridiculously stupid. They are WAY WAY WAY too big. This just messes up my whole setup now and I am goign to have to try and collect a ton of the smaller stands and then keep drilling holes in my figures. All we needed was to be able to buy the smaller ones in large quanities or this style but half the size. I'm sending mine back.

I know am trying to upload to youtube the video I took, and it's taking FOREVER!!!!
As soon as it's uploaded, I will post a link... it makes VERY clear that these stands don't work with really any of the male figures

Ok, I have been waiting for almost 2 hours for this video to upload to youtube... and it's STILL uploading... this is ridiculous.. youtube says it can take 1-5 minutes PER MB! The file is 539 MB...
so then I thought I would upload it to Megaupload.com, and you could all just download it. That was going to take 2 hours.
No.
Isn't there a faster way to do this?? My connection is fast too...
Pics would be fine, but the video is a MUCH better way to see these in action.

Can't you convert the video and reduce the file size?
Use something like the Free Video Converter here:
http://www.koyotesoft.com/indexEn.html
Once you've scaled down the video, uploading to Yuotube should be quicker.

I posted on the other Mattel stands thread about being torn between buying 50 of the stands or not and now I beleive that I have definitely made up my mind. I guess I'll just stick to the white thumb tack that I've been using for years and years. I just thought that I would support Mattel in all of their endeavors where JLU figures were concerned. However, I don't have a lot of money and I cannot in good conscience throw money at Mattel for a product that just doesn't perform the task it is designed to do.
I am really disapointed. I really wanted to buy some of these stands but I will not do so unless the price goes down even further.
Thanks for the heads up people.

if you could post a picture, that would be great (and for me, better than youtube video).
