Side note - there's no way that Matty would release this and not have the intention of offering it thru their website. This whole ploy of "if you don't buy our other 4 packs, you're not getting this one" is total BS.

I wouldn't go that far. Since that time they could have sold a lot more Gotham packs, or they went ahead with this one because of predicted sales on the LOSH set, OR they were too far into production on this set to cancel it. We still know nothing beyond these. Hopefully, the LOSH set blows them away and we'll hear the 4th set at SDCC.

My opinion, and it's only my personal opinion mind you, that the Shazam set is way too far into production to cancel. I don't usually delve into conspircy theories, but I believe their threats to cancel the Shazam set if sales of the LOSH set don't go up is a total farse. I think it's a ploy to drive up JLU sales. Now, I admit, I could be dead wrong - but why bother sending pixs over to fwoosh if they're not sure about producing the Shazam 4 packs at this point?

You're right though, beyond the Shazam 4 pack, it's anybody's guess.

I took a look at the expanded picture. I think that both the Capt Marvel and Black Adam pieces take their cue from the new animated style comic book, Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam.

This set looks perfect! I'm glad The Wizard was included. A new sculpt always adds something unique to the shelf. Captain Marvel is great and is SO long overdue!

I much prefer the gold to the yellow. These toys would have looked bootleg in yellow. KUDOS TO GOLD!

Yeah, LOVE these. They are even better in person (at NYCC)... but I could swear that Black Adam had a different head at NYCC... I will have to look at the pics again.

I love Mary Marvel's face... but I am totally perplexed by the RED... she's White and gold in the JLU comic (which I prefer). But that's a TINY complaint.

I also would have preferred yellow paint, but who knows? They might have tried it and it may have looked badly. Gold is such a risk with the JLU figures. It never REALLY dries on certain types of plastic (soft plastics, like Blue Devil's armor/vest).
