Any chance of a quick summary?
I can only access the web at work at the moment, and video links are disabled.
Hell, I'm lucky I can get on AFI at work.

Thanks for taking the time to do this, guys--it means a lot to those of us who can't make it for the big show.

Big big props to Julius and crew for getting these up. I enjoy watching these panels every year.
Some observations:
1. Powerpoint is stupid. The whole presentation is slowed down by the flipping of pictures. It'd be much easier as a traditional slideshow without all the Powerpoint add ons.
2. Toy Guru says some pretty ridiculous stuff. I understand the guy is probably nervous, but saying things like "With plug and play holes that collectors love" or whatever about Batman the Brave & The Bold really sounds insincere. It demeans his credibility when he says things like that. If he was pitching this to the Mattel execs I'd understand, but no one loves that.
3. The JLU announcements didn't get much hype. He tried to sell people on the Hal Jordan and you could just hear the tension in the room, lol. "This is accurate"... And then when they announced the 6 pack that includes 5 figures we all have 50 of, you could hear a pin drop. Poor guy.
4. NO reaction to any of the DCIH stuff. Toy Guru could have said jingle was going to autograph them and no one would have said anything. Seriously, crowd was totally dead for that. I mean, could there be anymore indication that NO one cares about this line? It made JLU seem like the Beatles.
5. I sure hope that the DCUC stuff is as available as Toy Guru says, because he says we'll have NO trouble at finding at Walmart. Hope that's true. They better pack 50 Jokers per case.
6. Superman/Batman is the only thing I was really blown away by. I want those.
7. MEGO is good for MEGO guys, but whatever to me.
8. 12 inch Movie Masters seems like a bit of a waste. If they're going to do Superman Movie Masters figures, why not do them in 6 inch format... Since that's Mattel's bigger overall fan base. It's not like there aren't 12 inch Superman movie toys out there.
Overall, interesting panel but some really odd choices and presentation stuff there.

These are what struck me most about the presentation too--some real misfires from Mattel, or misjudging collector interest. The crowd there, at least, seemed to be all about JLU and DCUC, and these other things went over like a lead balloon. You could hear crickets chirping each time. Which will be unfortunate if these missteps end up sapping Mattel's interest in continuing other DC Comics lines.
As for Toy Guru's script--he's toeing the company line, and I can't blame him for that. But yeah, when he says "adult collectors LOVE those peg-holes on the Brave and the Bold figures," I had a good guffaw.

Thanks so much for posting this!
MJ: I had the same response at the "kids and collectors love the holes" line. I think you're right about a lot of that being the script for the retailers, and the fact that the room is full of a bunch of people, and if he reads toy forums he's probably always bracing for a tomato or a shoe to come flying at him.
The funniest thing in there is the little nerd explosion when Toy Guru mistakenly calls Black Vulcan "Black Lightning"--he corrects himself right as he's saying it and there are still numerous people rushing to correct him and some groans. I laughed hard as I pictured this:

Question for anyone who was there, towards the end of video 1/5 at about 6:35 for the Imaginext Superfriends mini-vehicles he announces - "and for the first time Green Lantern in the line" and shows what looks to be a green jet plane (construct maybe?) and what I assume is a mini GL figure.
Was that John or Hal pictured with the green jet plane, could anyone make that out?

Awesome, is there anywhere to see an actual pic?
It instantly reminded me of this never produced SP vihicle -

Hal Jordan in the Imaginext line?!? Sweeeeeeet.
Every link I have tried has been forbidden. Does anyone have a post of the proto type or drawing?
I really wish they would have made Hal in the bigger Super Friends line but this is the next best thing.

Thanks, my browser at work must be blocking the photo, I'm just getting a red X.
This is such cool news.. These have been so popular with the kids I am trying to get two sets of everything.. one they can destroy out of love.. and one to preserve.
