I just opened the 12" Ray to shoot for the site and I'm BLOWN AWAY with how nice it is!!!!
I thought they were nice, but I wasn't really that excited about this line but now seeing it in person... The finished product really exceeds my expectations.
Every time I think "I wonder if it does this" the answer has come back "yes" every time.
Some highlights to look forward to:
- proton pack lights up
- gloves and bare hands
- doors for the ghost trap are push button spring loaded
- footpedal for ghost trap is spring loaded
- hose for ghost trap disconnects so he can carry it
-really nice new 12" body
- walkie talkie comes out of holster.
There's a lot more. I'll have stuff up on the front page soon! |

Would there by any way to post a short video or animated gif of the trap opening up and or the electonic/light up feature of the figure?
Also could you please post a picture of this figure standing next to some other 12 inch figures for scale reference?
How is the poseability of the figure - ie how much can the knees/elbows move or bend? Does it have good ankles and can stand up unlike the Sideshow figures?
Thank you
So far this looks like a must buy - Cool packaging too. |

Thanks, Julius. I am looking at the pictures now. I love this style & scale and was tempted to skip the 6" line for the 12" line. I think the real cloth outfits give the figures a look that is closer to the movie; it's the looseness (bagginess) that does it.
I am still not completely sold on the Dan Akroyd head sculpt, but I can live with it. The equipment looks excellent and after seeing the body in ToyFare, I am looking forward to testing out the articulation on it.
These should make a nice display, especially next Halloween when the whole set should be out. |

Thanks - great review.
I wonder how that chest feature is going to work with figures like Superman and other Spandex clothed figures?
That 12 inch Indiana Jones figure in the reference pic is laughably bad.
The 12 inch Mattel Ghostbusters figure looks surprisingly better than the Sideshow Luke. |

Ray looks tall in the comparison pictures too.
I never opened my Sideshow Jedi Luke (or any of them, actually), but man that looks bad now! |
