I am considering getting one Animated Batplane toy, but I am not sure which one I should get. I know all of the animated ones are the same mold, but which one has the best/coolest/ most accurate paintjob?

the 1st one is painted right but it is most likely the hardest to get. the others can be painted.

I am kind of leaning towards the Guardians of Gotham silver one. Are the Mattel ones any good, or show accurate?

Here's a pic of all five Batplanes released: Top-left is the show-accurate one from Kenner's BTAS line (dark blue with clear blue canopy) Top-right is the Shadowcast Batplane from Hasbro (black with green canopy and yellow missiles) Center-left is the Guardian of Gotham City Batplane from Hasbro (dirty silver with dark blue canopy) Center-right is the Mattel Batplane (silver with dark blue canopy) Bottom is the Justce League Batplane from Mattel (black with green canopy and orange missiles; also has JL logo on right wing) Personally, I'd go with the Shadowcast or JL Batplanes, since they're black, if you can't find/afford the BTAS Batplane.

Thanks for the pics! Is it just me, or is the canopy wider on the Mattel versions? I saw a picture of the Shadowcast batplane's box, and it had a light blue canopy. Is this innacurate, or is it a variant? And did Batman ever actually use the plane in JL?

You're welcome. The canopy is the same across the board. It's just the angle and closeness of the shot that makes it look wider in the Mattel pic. And Batman did use the Batplane in JL, but it was the TNBA Batplane, which was sadly never captured in action-figure scale.

That was the only JL toy I saw at that particular store (they did have the electronic Batman Begins Tumbler, too). With it being a close-out/over-stock store it's a complete crap-shoot what you're going to find, just be prepared to spend a bit of time going through the shelves as there was no organization to the toy aisle other than a general girl stuff on one side/boy stuff on the other...

I will try to check Tuesday Morning out. If the Shadowcast batplane has a green canopy, does that mean the packaging is wrong? Right now, I am kind of torn between the Guardians of Gotham one and the original BTAS one. I know the BTAS is more accurate, but I love the GoGC paintjob!

Yes, box for the Shadowcast Batplane is wrong. The canopy is green.

Why yes I do! (How did I know that question was coming?) Top-left is the show-accurate one from Kenner's BTAS line (dark blue with clear canopy) Top-right is the 1st TRU Batmobile (dark blue with orange canopy) Row 2 starts with the TRU Knight Camo Batmobile (blue with black bat camo) Row 2 ends with the TRU Shadowcast Batmobile (black with green canopy) Center is the Guardian of Gotham City Batmobile (dirty silver with dark blue canopy) Bottom left is the Knight Striker Batmobile (show accurate TNBA black) Bottom right is the TRU Gotham City Darkstorm Batmobile (dirty dark blue)

Thanks again! Wow, it's really cool to see all of those together. I actually own the original BTAS batmobile, and TRU Knight Camo version, I just wanted to see the different variants. Again, there is something I love about the GoGC silver paintjob. I wonder why Mattel never bothered to rerelease Batman's signature vehicle? It would be cool to see the TNBA version released in JLU packaging. Are these from your personal collection?
