FOUR HORSEMEN ANNOUNCE PLANS FOR SAN DIEGO COMIC CON 2008
July 22, 2008

It’s only about 48 hours until Preview Night begins for San Diego Comic Con 2008, and the guys at Four Horsemen Toy Design want you to pay them a visit at the big show.

The Four Horsemen will again be sharing a booth at Comic Con with their old pals at AFX (http://www. ActionFigureXpress.com). Booth number 4045 will be the place to go to buy exclusive Four Horsemen action figures, get a look at some never before seen Seventh Kingdom 2-up paint-masters, and to see the remaining variant figures for the main bad guy from their popular Gothitropolis property, Scarabus!

Speaking of Scarabus and his dominion of Gothitropolis, three of his minute minions, the Time Keepers will be on hand and up for sale at booth #4045.

Time Keepers: Baraeth, Nybbaz and Aestorath stand at just over three inches tall, and are packaged in a stunningly decorated window box. Each wields their own menacing Chrono-Hammer, and sports 7 points of articulation (ball-jointed head, ball-jointed shoulders, swivel wrists, a mid-torso “ab-crunch”, and a swivel waist).

You can pick up each of the Time Keepers at the Four Horsemens’ booth for $10.00 each or a mere $25.00 for the set of all three!

The Four Horsemen will also be appearing on various panels and signings for both Mattel and Action Figure Times throughout the weekend. The schedule of various panels is listed below, so be sure to mark your calendars and make sure you don’t miss out!

Last, don’t forget to stop by Mattels’ booth early to make sure you pick up both the DC Universe Classics Lobo figure ($25.00), and the Masters of the Universe Classics: King Grayskull figure ($30.00)! Both figures are designed and created by the Four Horsemen for Mattel, so you’ll certainly want to come by during one of the Mattel/Four Horsemen signings (listed below) to get all four signatures!

See where and when they are appearing after the jump.

Daniel Pickett
Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website www.ActionFigureInsider.com. Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on MSNBC.com, Wired.com, Fark.com, Boing-Boing, Gizmodo.com, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
