Gaming Heads Presents: Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider Statue Series
December 19, 2013

December 18th 2013: Just in time for the holidays, the team here at Gaming Heads have another fantastic new range in store. Following the announcement of several other new and exciting lines, it is with great pleasure that today that we can reveal another brand new addition: Lara Croft from the sensational reboot of the Tomb Raider series. We’ve expanded our range of licenses significantly over the past year, and with Tomb Raider boasting some of most lauded characters in recent video games, we’re sure that this new range will be appreciated by fans everywhere.

Lara Croft was first introduced to the world in 1996’s Tomb Raider, where she set about making her mark as a feisty treasure hunter. Now fans have been able to witness a new side to a younger Lara in the 2013 game of the same name, and it is on that game that we are basing our statues. She’s battered and scarred from the trials she’s faced trying to survive the gruelling trials of Yamatai and the Solarii. We worked tirelessly to make sure that every last detail was included, from her scars being individually painted to her hair blowing against her face in the wind. Lara is depicted clutching her signature crossbow in the regular edition, and the special Gaming Heads Exclusive Edition comes with a swap-out shot gun.

She stands at an impressive ¼ scale and 20 inches tall, including the rocky base, truly giving such a powerful heroine the presence she deserves.

Both editions of Lara Croft are available to pre-order now for release in Q2 2014. The regular edition is limited to 1000 units and can be ordered here, and the exclusive edition is limited to just 500 units and can be ordered here.

Make sure you stay tuned for more in the Tomb Raider series from Gaming Heads in the future.

Daniel Pickett
Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on,, The Wall Street Journal, The Saturday Evening Post,,,, Boing-Boing,, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
