logoBe it rain, sleet or snow – NOTHING will keep us from getting together to record and talk about the latest news in pop culture.  As rain gripped the Southland we braved the elements to record a new episode.

What’s new with your favorite geeks this week?

Daniel isn’t finding any new toys in stores so he’d revisiting some classic lines that he collected in his childhood.

When Jason was a young lad, all of 11 years old he picked up his first copy of DOCTOR WHO MONTHLY magazine.  In the newest issue, there’s an article/picture on BifBangPow’s retro figures.   Life comes full circle for Mr. Lenzi.

logo Happy MLK Day everyone.  I hope most of you have the day off and will be able to have a short work week ahead.  A long weekend makes us all “as happy as a clam at a clam convention.”

To kick things off we have a few corrections from the last episode.   We’ve recorded over 56 hours of original, unscripted talk and every so often something comes out of our mouths that’s just… off.   That happened last week, so we clean it up here.  I know it was the 20lb gorilla in the room… wait… what? Crap.  I did it again!

In this episode we cover:

  • - The Golden Globes – Jason hit some after parties.  Who did he run into?
  • - Daniel is playing the Simpsons: Tapped Out app. on his iPhone.
  • -  Everything or Nothing James Bond documentary.
  • - What we watched last week: Frankenwennie, Ruby Sparks, Ted
  • - Why does every US show need a brit in the lead role?
  • - Sons of Anarchy 1:18th scale bikes from Maisto.
  • - Minimates Battle Beasts wave 1 from DST shipping this week.
  • - A new Pink Floyd documentary
  • - A little new information on a possible Star Wars TV show.
  • - Statement from Hasbro on the future of Star Wars figures.
  • - Disney announces Disney Infinity video game (a PRE-correction – when talking about this game I mention “the duck from Phineas and Ferb” – Dunno why I said that.  It’s a platypus, not a duck)
  • - Guillermo Del Toro working on the Justice League Dark Movie
  • - The end of ‘FRINGE’

All that and much more!

logoYou’ll be shocked to learn that this week we lead off this episode talking about Oprah. But that’s just the kind of pop culture ground we have the skills to cover on the Geek Shall Inherit podcast!  In this episode Daniel admits his strange and unnatural love of David Letterman and the weird depths of his fandom for this man and his TV show.   He reveals a lot, but I’m not sure we have even scratched the surface…

The geek news really picked up this week, both good news and bad news, but we cover it all in a little over an hour.

In this episode we cover:

  • - Daniel took in a  lot of movies this last week, and only one of them was really nerdy :This is 40, The Campaign, Real Steel and The Help
  • - We were both shocked by the surprise return of David Bowie this past week and the news of a new album.
  • - Season 3 of Joe Schmo has started on Spike TV
  • - Marvel Lego game is coming this Fall. (Just in time as Abby and I completed Lego LOTR 100% 2 weeks ago).
  • - Mattel’s new “Club Black Freighter” Watchmen Rorschach figure (will be for sale Jan 15th.) You can see more pictures of it here.
  • - Captain Action photo contest.
  • - A Trek fan had a dying wish to see Star Trek Into Darkness.  Thanks to Paramount and J.J. Abrams he got his wish.
  • - The Ronnie Lane Story doc
  • - If you are anywhere close to Los Angeles, check out Paleyfest 2013!
  • - Congratulations to Jason and Holi Wires on the birth of their son Ronin Eddie Rey Wires on Tuesday.
  • - New ‘Adventure Time’ action figure wave from Jazwares.
  • - The recent NECA Django and A Christmas Story controversy.
  • - After 42 years of reporting on the industry Comic Buyers Guide is canceled.
  • - Jason met a guy in Golden Apple and is now throwing his weight behind the “Solestar”  kickstarter campaign.
  • - Guillermo Del Toro Got That ‘Star Wars’ Call After All.
  • -Tron: Uprising has been canceled.

All that and more in an all new episode of Geek Shall Inherit!

logo Happy New Year everyone! We are back for our first episode of 2013 and better than ever!   Jason ALMOST secured a big name director for us as a guest on the show as he ran into him in his local Target store.  Who was it?  Listen and find out!

We DIDN’T get that guest so instead you can listen to us discuss things like “what was the first PG-13 movie”, Jason tells MAYBE the BEST Lance Hendrickson story EVER and “George Lucas’ dewlap.”  But if  THAT’S not enough for you…

Other things we cover in this episode:
