Four new products are coming from the gang at Gentle Giant at the end of 2016 from across the spectrum of their licenses.   We see some great new stuff in their Jumbo universe including a new Secret Wars figure and the return of their Star Wars Jumbos!

PRODUCT: ROTJ Luke Skywalker Jumbo Figure

Inspired by the Kenner vintage Star Wars figures, Gentle Giant is proud to bring you the Young Jedi Knight, Luke Skywalker, in jumbo size! Returning to Tattooine once again, this time to help his friends, the Young Jedi arrives coaked in his hooded robe at Jabba’s Palace.
Digitally scanned from mint 3 ¾” Kenner originals and reproduced in 12” scale to the rest of the jumbo Kenner line, no detail has been overlooked. Roto and injection molded and made of durable plastics, this fully-articulated jumbo figure includes a faithfully re-produced lightsaber and cloth hooded robe.
To further capture the vintage feel, Gentle Giant has packaged this figure with a Return of the Jedi-inspired backer card featuring original photos and artwork. Designed with the collector in mind, the figure comes in a re-sealable plastic outer clam shell to help protect and display this limited edition figure.

Gentle Giant LTD continues the animated fun with the love starved “mad titan” himself, Thanos! This animated design of Death’s suitor is based off of artwork found in the pages and covers of Marvel Comics.
With balloon in hand, meant for his love, this Thanos collectible was digitally sculpted, and then printed out on state of the art 3D Systems printers. The prints were then used to create the prototypes needed to produce this fun filled statue of Thanos!
This Thanos statue continues Gentle Giant LTD’s ongoing line of Marvel Comics Characters in this animated style!

PRODUCT: Secret Wars Jumbo Iron Man

Secret Wars was a 12 part series from Marvel Comics that introduced the character of The Beyonder to the Marvel Universe. The Beyonder, assembles a planet from chunks of other planets and dubs it “Battleworld”. He then kidnaps several heroes and villains from Earth, and transplants them on Battleworld to fight for The Beyonder’s amusement. Iron Man is transported along with the rest of the heroes to Battleworld to fight.
Digitally scanned from the original Secret Wars figures and reproduced in 12” scale, no detail has been overlooked. Roto and injection molded and made of durable plastics with original articulation.
To further capture the vintage feel, Gentle Giant has packaged this figure with a Secret Wars-inspired backer card featuring original photos and artwork. Daniel Pickett
Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website www.ActionFigureInsider.com. Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on MSNBC.com, Wired.com, Fark.com, Boing-Boing, Gizmodo.com, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
