Green Lantern Movie Preview Figure and More
January 1, 2011

There has been quite a bit of information on the Green Lantern movie figures come out this week.  Some of it from official channels and some from unofficial channels.

First up is the news of this  Toys R Us Exclusive Green Lantern Early Bird Action Figure.  This figure and it’s package was posted this week on Toys R Us’ site and is now available for pre-order with an estimated February delivery.

It’s a little hard to tell all the details from just these two pictures and there’s no real information about them on the TRU site other than the $24.99 price and the estimated delivery date.   It appears the figure is 3.75" or "Infinite Heroes" scale.   You can see he has articulation at the neck, ball jointed shoulders, swivel waist, and hip that now resemble DCUC figure.  It’s unclear from the pictures if there is elbow or knee articulation.

The base will be numbered as a limited edition.  I can’t make out the unit edition size.   I suspect it would be something like 2814.   It appears that the ring might be removable from the base.

From the UNofficial channels comes this "pre-sell" Ebay auction for what appears to be a Green Lantern Movie Masters Tomar-Re figure from Hong Kong.   I’m not encouraging anyone to bid on this auction as I suspect the figure was gotten through ill-gotten gains.  But the images have made the rounds just about everywhere and it is news.  So if you’d like to see more images of the figure then you can look at the auction.

I’m sure there will be plenty more Green Lantern movie toy news in the coming weeks as Mattel prepares to debut the line at Toy Far 2011 in February.  Stay tuned to AFi for all the latest toy news in 2011!

Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on,,, Boing-Boing,, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
