Twice a month the gang from Mattel are kind enough to answer five questions from AFi readers.  The Mattel marketing and PR team, have replied with the answers to our latest round of questions that AFi readers have posted in our forums.

Mattel will took a short break earlier this month for the holidays and now they are back!

Let’s get to the questions and the answers!

Q1.  Will you be revealing any new Club Infinite Earths figures before Toy Fair? And will the Club Infinite Earths figures and subscription be promoted heavily at future shows?

A1. No, we will not have any reveals until NYTF at this point.

Q2. Would you consider making a Commissioner Gordon with Batsignal and roof top base, (you could repurpose one of the YJ bases you already have) as one of the oversized figures in the DC sub?

A2. That is a very cool idea but nothing set at the moment. Stay tuned!

Q3.  Will there ever be a chance of getting Panthor re issued with either flocking or the same textured paint used on the DCUC 2 pack Balack Manta? (The flocking has been proven to be possible by customizers so even with the all the articulation of the figure it should be manageable, although I feel the textured paint would work better.)

A3. Always a possibility but nothing is planned right now.

Q4.  Is there a set date for the price drop of the Young Justice line? If so, when is it?

A4.  No, there is no price drop currently planned for YJ.

Q5. The new Red Robin shown for Wave 2 of DC All-Stars is pretty beefy.  Can you tell us which version he is according to the bio?  Who is supposed to be under the cowl.
A5.  From Bill Benecke in design: “This figure is indeed intended to be the pre- New 52 Red Robin, and is definitely Tim Drake… not the Dick Grayson Red Robin from “Kingdom Come”.

The Four Horsemen bring their sensibilities and expertise to all of the DCU figures they work on; in this case, they
worked from multiple reference images of Red Robin and synthesized the elements that were felt to make for a great representation of the character.”

If you’d like to ask a question for the  February 15th submission then feel free to post your questions in our Mattel Q&A question submissions thread!   Remember they can be about any Mattel product including MOTUC, Ghostbusters,WWE any of the Mattel DC lines, Voltron and Cars. Twice a month we draw our submission question directly from the ones that AFi readers post.

You can submit new questions in this thread.

You can find our past Q&A’s here.  And you can discuss the answers on our Mattel board.

Thanks again to the team at Mattel for taking time to answer our questions!
