Matty from MattyCollector.com and ToyGuru, have replied with the answers to our latest round of questions that AFi readers have posted in our forums.
Today is April 2nd so here are the REAL answers to our last round of questions.
I also want to say a BIG thank you to AFi contributor Flash! for the Clawdeen photoshop mock-up we used for our April Fools story yesterday.
Q1.) Is DCUC Wave 11 going to be distributed to Toys R Us/Target, or has the entire run already been distributed?
A1.) There is still plenty of DCUC Wave 11 left to ship. It is up to each retailer to order product, Mattel can not control this.
Q2.) Will any past waves be re-offered on MattyCollector.com? Wave 11 is marked out of stock, but not "gone for good".
A2.) Wave 11 will not be back on MattyCollector.com. Each box set is up for a set amount of time and then gone! Although right now we are still evaluating whether to keep the box sets going. There was actually much less interest in Wave 11 and now Wave 12 then we hoped for to justify all of the logistics of creating these sets. Unless sales of the box set pick up with Wave 13, we may not be able to continue these. We can only make and sell toys for MattyCollector.com if there are fans/customers buying them.
Q3.) You’ve stated we’ll get a look at the GL 5 pack in April/May, but when are it and the announced Batman/Robin and Aquaman/Manta 2 packs expected to hit stores?
A3.) Ideally in the next few months as they are in production now.
Q4.) It was posted on Matty that Wave 13 is coming in March , Wave 14in April, Wave 15 is coming in July, and Wave 16 in Dec/Jan2011. Was a wave skipped there, or will no new product be shipping during the holiday season? Or will older waves be reshipped during this time frame?
A4.) When waves hit retail is not an exact science. Ideally, Waves 13-16 should ship in 2010 and that will mean plenty of product all year long. They may not all exactly ship in the months we plan – that depends a lot on factors well beyond Mattel’s control.
Q5.) Will the 2-Packs offered on Matty ever be offered again in any form? What about slightly different versions, like an 80s Starfire or Classic Adam Strange?
A5.)We could certainly look at offering the characters from those two packs in the DCUC line again in a different look, but the exact versions from the two packs will not be offered again and there will not be any further Mattycollector.com DCUC 2-packs due to poor sales of the previous packs.
The next round of questions have already been turned in, but if you want to get in on the NEXT round we need your questions by April 12th. Remember they can be about any Mattel product including MOTUC, Ghostbusters and Cars. You can submit new questions in this thread.
