The GI JOE team at Hasbro has answered our latest round of questions. If you have a question you want answered in the next round then post it in this thread.
Q1. Is there any chance of seeing Cover Girl in the 3¾” line before the focus shifts over to the movie figures?
A1. No.
Q2. Since Sgt. Slaughter is apparently impossible, would Hasbro be interested in making Super Cop? He was a Funskool character and since Hasbro has been re-making international figures in the 25th line a Super Cop figure would be a great way to get the Sarge without getting the Sarge. Super Cop would be a very niche product that may not appeal to our broader base.
A2. The brand feels they should either do a Sarge figure correctly or not do it at all.
Q3. Is there a good chance we’ll see singles like Alpine, Low-Light, Dr. Mindbender, and Quick Kick?
A3. While you will see Alpine, Quick Kick, and Dr. Mindbender in the line, you will not get them single carded.
Q4. I don’t think too many of us expect to see the return of the U.S.S. Flag (although we’d love it!) But are there currently any plans to give us any classic play sets to go along with our sweet figures and vehicles? Joe Base? Checkpoint? Etc?
A4. We are looking into some smaller classic playsets for early 2009, but have no plans to release a larger classic playset prior to the movie.
Q5. Are there plans on giving us more great vehicles like the Devil Fish, Snowcat, etc. I think all of us would absolutely LOVE to see more vehicles. Especially when keeping good variety with larger (Conquest & Rattler) and smaller (RAM Cycle, Armadillo) vehicles.
A5. Yes, we plan on continuing into 2009 with new vehicles that will include a number of newly tooled classic vehicles.
