I first met Charlie Mewshaw, briefly in NY at Toy Fair at the Diamond booth.  He’s a super nice fella and we’re delighted he decided to share his new project with us at AFI.

He is going to be independently releasing his OWN limited run toys in mid-late June. This line is not from big company or a distributor, its really just Charlie, his characters, and the desire to get some people to look at them. The line rolling out this summer is called SaucerNauts. They’re colorful aliens little aliens with 4 points of articulation and interchangable parts.

Each character will be limited to 40 pieces, are hand cast, one of a kind, and hand painted and numbered. Each one will come in a numbered box that matches the number of the figures order in the production run and will be packed in with a hand colored and numbered comic strip. There are 3 characters: Billy, Teddy, and Geoff in the first series, with one additional SaucerNaut, and a mystery character hopefully coming out down the road (fall ideally).

In addition to the standard colors there will be some limited variants introduced throughout each characters run.

Here are some pictures of the series 1 figures, and Charlie’s got a lot more pics and info for anyone who is interested at http://themewsh.blogspot.com
