Collider.com and Variety just broke the news that ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ director J.J. Abrams will direct Star Wars Episode VII. Abrams who had admitted to being asked to direct the next movie in the saga late last year had turned down the job saying he’d “rather be in the audience not knowing what was coming, rather than being involved in the minutiae of making the film.”
Clearly something changed his mind and he’s in talks to get on board. Abrams is a fan of the franchise and had great success rebooting the Star Trek franchise.
More on this story as it develops.
