Matty from MattyCollector.com and ToyGuru. sent us the answers to our latest round of questions that AFi readers have posted in our forums.
Q1: After the re-releases of He-Man and Skeletor, which other figures will be getting re-released? Will we get another chance to pick up Man-at-Arms and Beast Man from Matty or is the only way to get these off of the secondary market?
A1: Yes, we do plan to get to more re-releases in time. Not every figure will be re-released, but the main A list characters like He-Man and Skeletor will.
Q2: When the exclusive contract with Walmart expires, will you re-release some of the wave 5 characters such as Black Lightning, Atom and Eradicator as All Star figures? Also, would you change up the goggles on Eradicator to clear as originally intended as this would make a good variant and incentive to maybe purchase the figure again?
A2: We won’t be changing the goggles of Eradicator, but we will look at re-releasing Wave 5 down the line, likely as a box set on Mattycollector.com.
Q3: The new Batman Superman Public Enemies came out and I was wondering why Brimestone was not fully translucent like shown at SDCC? Will the repaint Superman and Batman come with arms that are not translucent and painted like the legs? What about the torso will that be painted or translucent?
A3: Brimstone’s body is actually similar to Goddess in the MOTU line. It will be semi-translucent. The SDCC version was a prototype.
Q4: Batman Brave and the Bold- Are the villains selling OK? I see singles of Kanjar Ro and SportMaster hanging on the pegs and no singles of anyone else at my local Walmart. Would you please put the Music Meister on the list of villains to be made?
A4: No plans for Music Meister at this point, but we’ll pass that suggestion along! Wasn’t “Death Trap” a great number?
Q5: INFINITE HEROES: Could we please get some concrete news on this line? Some new figures were shown at SDCC. We know about the Wal-Mart 6 packs still to come (Doomsday and OMAC Attacks) and some of the single-carded figures and 3 packs to come that were in the SDCC slideshow but no word on when any of these products are coming, or what is beyond them.
A5: The figures shown at SDCC will keep shipping and we have a ton more for 2010, but we need to play a little catch up first. We hope to have more news at NY Toy Fare.
The next round of questions have already been turned in, but if you want to get in on the NEXT round we need your questions by Saturday Dec. 12th. Remember they can be about any Mattel product including MOTUC, Ghostbusters and Cars. You can submit new questions in this thread.
You can find our past Q&A’s here. And you can discuss the answers at our Mattel board.
