Mattel announced last week their plans for the Masters of the Universe NYC Comic Con exclusive figure over on MattyCollector.com
We’re getting closer to the release of MOTU Classics. Everyone on the MattyCollector.comSM team is so appreciative of all our fan’s patience as we work around the clock to get these figures correct before bringing them to market.
We will be launching the MOTU Classics brand page here on MattyCollector.com in early November with release dates, photo guides and up-to-the-minute information about the MOTU Classics brand. It looks to be a very exciting 2009 with at least one new figure each month starting with a double delivery of He-Man® and Beast Man® in December.
What’s that? You want more? Well how about the NY Comic Con Faker® figure!
That’s right, in addition to the February figure Stratos®, Faker® will also be available at NY Comic Con (with additional supply available in March here at MattyCollector.com). But get him first at the show!
And yes, he will have the computer graphic under his armor! We wouldn’t do the fans wrong!
Singer, François Macré, managed to record each of his tracks in video as he sang this A Cappell version of "Thriller", and arranged all 64 parts visually, so you can see each of the different tracks used for the song. It took him over 300 hours to sing and arrange all of the parts.

A new designer toy series from acclaimed British designer James Jarvis
[San Francisco, CA - October 27, 2008] – STRANGEco, the premier producer of high-quality designer toys and gifts, is pleased to announce the King Ken Mini Series, a new toy series created under license from London-based Amos Novelties. Designed by famed illustrator and Designer Toy pioneer James Jarvis, this series consists of new 4-inch versions of his popular King Ken character in six special color variants. The King Ken Mini Series debuts worldwide on November 22, 2008, for the holiday shopping season. Born and raised in South London, James Jarvis is widely considered one of the pioneers in the modern “designer toy” phenomenon. He has been designing original vinyl figures for over a decade, beginning with the now iconic Martin vinyl figure for UK street fashion brand Silas & Maria in 1998 and continuing through his own toy company, Amos Toys. In 2003, Amos released the original King Ken as a 12-inch limited edition vinyl figure. An instant classic, the character was re-released in a series of limited edition color variants, each as popular as the next. King Ken next appeared in Vortigern’s Machine and the Great Sage of Wisdom, a comic novel created in 2006 by Jarvis and Amos co-founder Russell Waterman. This exposure has established King Ken as one of the most popular and recognizable characters in Jarvis’ potato-headed universe.
The King Ken Mini figure series features a new direction in the collaboration between STRANGEco and Amos Toys. San Francisco-based STRANGEco has distributed Amos products in North America since 2003 and, for the first time, is stepping into the role of producing James Jarvis’ toy designs. Like many designer toys, King Ken Series 1 is packaged in a “mystery box” assortment – much like a trading card, each figure is packed in an identical box, so the actual figure inside is unknown until the box is opened. The series features five main color variations – two from the original 12-inch collectibles and three original colors – plus one special surprise “chase” figure.
The King Ken Mini Series ships to retailers worldwide in late November 2008, through a network of distributors in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Legendary B-movie actor Bruce Campbell plays himself in MY NAME IS BRUCE, which he also directed. The film, distributed by Image Entertainment, begins its national platformed release October 31st – Halloween – in New York.
Bruce will be introducing the film at the theatre and doing a post-screening Q&A with the audience on opening night in each city. The most current list of market openings is noted below.
In MY NAME IS BRUCE, Bruce is mistaken for his character Ash from the Evil Dead trilogy and forced to fight a real monster – a nine-foot-tall sword-wielding Chinese god of war – in a small town in Oregon. Mortified at first, Campbell decides to enjoy his stab at protecting the innocent until the situation turns decidedly gruesome. Confronted by a monster that’s not a guy in a rubber suit, and with the blood of innocents on his hands, Bruce must abandon his slothful Hollywood ways. In a climactic, mano-a-monster battle, he is forced to finally rise to the occasion and become a hero…in real life.
MY NAME IS BRUCE is produced by Bruce Campbell and Mike Richardson (for Dark Horse Indie) and was written by Mark Verheiden. The film stars Bruce Campbell, Grace Thorsen, Taylor Sharpe, Ted Raimi, Ellen Sandweiss, Danny Hicks and Tim Quill. (more…)
The rumors are confirmed! Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively-multiplayer game set in the critically acclaimed world of Knights of the Old Republic was officially announced this week at a press event held at the LucasArts campus in San Francisco.
Taking place 300 years after the events of Knights of the Old Republic, players will be able to join the galaxy in the epic struggle between the dark and light sides of the Force. Along the way, players will acquire companions who will fight at their side or possibly betray them, based on the players’ actions. Players can also choose to team up with friends to battle enemies and overcome incredible challenges using dynamic Star Wars combat.
"Traditionally, massively multiplayer online games have been about three basic gameplay pillars — combat, exploration and character progression,” said Dr. Ray Muzyka, Co-Founder and General Manager/CEO of BioWare and General Manager/Vice President of Electronic Arts Inc., “In Star Wars: The Old Republic, we’re fusing BioWare’s heritage of critically-acclaimed storytelling with the amazing pedigree of Lucasfilm and LucasArts, and adding a brand-new fourth pillar to the equation — story. At the same time, we will still deliver all the fun features and activities that fans have come to expect in a triple-A massively multiplayer online game. To top it all off, Star Wars: The Old Republic is set in a very exciting, dynamic period in the Star Wars universe.”
In Star Wars: The Old Republic, players will explore an age thousands of years before the rise of Darth Vader when war between the Old Republic and the Sith Empire divides the galaxy. Players can choose to play as Jedi, Sith, or a variety of other classic Star Wars roles.
More about the game will be revealed over the coming months, so keep an eye on StarWarsTheOldRepublic.com for additional details on Star Wars: The Old Republic features, gameplay and the release date.
