Mattel has sent us information on a very special auction of a CARS product diorama being auctioned off for the annual Children Affected by AIDS Foundation "4 kids" event .

CAAF is an organization that raises money for children affected by AIDS. Every year Mattel donates several one-of-a-kind toy to be auctioned off. This year one of those items is a CARS collector case.  Several other one of a kind items are listed below.

The event is called the Dream Halloween. It will be held Saturday, October 27 from 5pm to 8:30pm at Barker Hanger in the Santa Monica Air Hanger. (3021 Airport Ave, Santa Monica, CA 90405)

Jamie Lee Curtis will be the celebrity host and the event will be chaired by Bob Eckert CEO of Mattel and Jerry Storch CEO of Toys R Us.

Round two of the Four Horsemens’ FANtastic Exclusive 2008 is up and running, and it’s like nothing they’ve done before. The FANtastic FANatics have been asking for a shake up in the voting system and now they are going to get it.

As an experiment the Four Horsemen are holding back the results of round one, and going straight to round two! This time it’s going to be an all out character vs. character brawl!

Fans will be given the chance to choose their favorites out of 28 different characters from all four of the current FANtastic Exclusive properties on display – Gothitropolis, MagmaC.O.R.P.S., Zodiac Pack and Symbiotech.

At the conclusion of round two the Four Horsemen will reveal the results of both rounds one and two. At that point, if the results of the rounds contradict each other, they will set up a final, deciding round of voting.

 This new approach to voting is going to give fans an unprecedented amount of influence on next years’ exclusive. At this point anything can happen!

Last week I got an email from one of the creators of the new site “Heroes, Villains and Artists” a web-based show that looks at the people behind the stuff you love such as comics and toys.  The first episode is a two part interview with sculptor Tony Cipriano. Tony’ has worked for DC Direct, Bowen Designs, McFarlane Toys, Dark Horse comics.   Most recently Tony worked with Sideshow on that controversial Mary Jane comiquette based on Adams Hughes art work. 

This show has good production values and asks some great questions.   I love forward to seeing what they do next.

Centennial, Colo. – Oct. 8, 2007 – "Star Trek" fans can now boldly go where no man has gone before to see two of the most famous episodes of the original television series – their local movie theatre. "Star Trek: The Original Series" is being beamed onto the big screen in a special one night event in select movie theatres nationwide on Tuesday, Nov. 13th, featuring original Season 1 episodes "The Menagerie" Part 1 and 2, digitally remastered in High-Definition and Cinema Surround Sound.

Fans will also be greeted by an introduction from creator Gene Roddenberry’s son, Eugene "Rod"  Roddenberry*, and given a behind-the-scenes look at how the episodes were digitally re-mastered from the original negatives – including the reinvention of the old TV show special effects using new CGI animation, and the orchestral re-recording of the show’s theme music – in a new 30-minute in-theatre exclusive featurette.

"Star Trek: The Original Series" special in-theatre event will be presented by NCM FATHOM, CBS Home Entertainment and Startrek.com on Tuesday, Nov. 13th at 7:30 p.m. local time in nearly 300 participating AMC, Cinemark, Georgia Theatre Company and Regal Entertainment Group movie theatres across the country. Tickets for this special one-time-only event are on-sale now for $12.50 at presenting theatre box offices and online at www.FathomEvents.com <http://www.fathomevents.com/> .
