Earlier today I attended a screening of Return of the Jedi to celebrate not just May the 4th (Star Wars Day) BUT the 30th Anniversary of the film. It was screened at the theater where it premiered in 1983, the Egyptian theater. This is the first time in 30 years that the movie has been screened there so it was quite the triumphant return as Return of the Jedi will be screening there all day!(…) Read the rest of Return of the Jedi – 30th Anniversary Screening EW CapeTown Festival
For the past several years, after they make their inital Comic Con exclusive announcements they put them on display at The Comic Bug in Manhattan Beach, Ca for Free Comic Book Day. Since that comic shop is a few blocks away from my house I was able to swing by and get some more detailed shots of the newly announced exclusives. These will be on display through the weekend at the Comic Bug for Free Comic Book Day 2013.

As you will recall USA Today were the folks that broke the news and gave us our first images of the upcoming Star Wars Black from Hasbro back in February. So it’s only fitting that they show us the first images of the Star Wars Black SDCC 2013 exclusive – Boba Fett with Han Solo in carbonite block. We knew this would be the SDCC exclusive as it was announced at the collector press event at Toy Fair 2013 in February. And I’m sure it’s no surprise that this figure was revealed the day before Star Wars Day – May 4th.
This is the Empire Strikes Back version of the costume with the green gauntlets. He comes with two weapons and his jetpack. We were told at Toy Fair that it’s just the carbonite block and the packaging that would be exclusive. This version of Boba Fett would still be available at some point in the line.
The special-edition set is priced at $44.99 and will be sold at the Hasbro booth at the San Diego Convention Center July 18-21.
You can read more information and see the rest of the packaging pictures here at USA Today.
Every weekday starting Monday April 29th and ending Friday May 3rd, we’ll reveal a new SDCC product. That’s ten total, plus we’ll add one or two surprises later in May or June just to keep it all going. Below is a list of the reveals. Make sure you check back every day so you don’t miss a single one!
We’ve also got news about the SDCC Voucher Pre-sale, SDCC’s Most-Wanted Sale, and where you can see these products live on display. Click here for all the info.
We will have more detailed pictures of most of these collectibles up later tonight. And now on to the final 2 reveals… for now…

We love it when a plan comes together! The members of the A-Team were the top action adventure heroes of the ‘80s, and their van was one of the reasons why. Next up in our look at Hasbro’s Iron Man 3 offering are the “Assemblers” line. These figures appear to be inspired by Hasbro’s Star Wars ‘Droid Factory’ build-a -figure concept, but instead of having to collect parts with other figures you get everything you need in one package and can build from there. These are 4″ figures have 5 points of articulation, including, semi-ball jointed head, ball jointed shoulders and hips.
Swap parts for hundreds of superhero combinations with the amazing Assemblers Interchangeable Armor System! Each figure comes with 2 interchangeable limbs and a missile launcher. But unlike other Iron Man figures, these arms, legs and head detach! Build them the way you want for your next adventure. Swap parts from other Assemblers figures (sold separately) for even more incredible armor combinations. Built the ultimate in Iron Man technology with this awesome wave of figures!
There are 6 figures in this initial wave. The line up of wave 1 is: IRON MAN Mark 42, IRON PATRIOT, STARBOOST IRON MAN, STEALTH TECH IRON MAN, WAR MACHINE and HYPERVELOCITY IRON MAN.
