Here is the latest round of answers from our ongoing, monthly Mattel Q&A. You can find our past Q&A’s here. And you can discuss the answers at our Mattel board.

Q1: Legion of Super-Heroes figures ?!? Any word at all ?!? 2008 is the 50th anniversary of the debut of the Legion. Is Mattel going to do ANYTHING in conjunction with the anniversary?

A: While we do have access to the characters from LOSH, we do not have any specific plans to do figures specifically for a 50th anniversary celebration. We look forward to announcing LOSH figures in the future.

Q2:  Will you be re-releasing the 4H designed characters from DCSH in the DCUC packaging so as to give people coming to the line as DCUC a chance to catch up?

A: We do have plans to bring some of the harder to find DCSH figures back into the line. Just how and when they will show up remains to be seen…

Q3: I must say you’ve really kicked off the DC Classics with a bang – the figures are excellent and the variety of characters is appreciated. Will there be a conscious attempt to keep the "archenemy" (Batman/Penguin, Aquaman/Black Manta, GreenLantern/Sinestro) theme running throughout the entire line? Personally,I think it’s great to see a hero and his main enemy on the shelf at the same time!

A: Yes. Each wave will continue to be anchored by a main character and a connection figure. Although the connection figure may not always be an enemy. Sometimes it might be a love interest or perhaps their butler.

Q4: Some of the figures released only in Europe at the end of the Batman line a few years ago have made their way to the U.S. repainted or retooled in other lines or even as straight re-releases through Big Lots. Is there any chance that the mid-size Aerobat vehicle or the Bat Signal Batman (even just the signal) will be released in the U.S.?

A: Both of those are really cool accessories that would be fun to re-release. We are currently exploring a few options.

Q5: Hey Toy Guru, are there any plans to get Grodd back into Targets (as they royally boned up the whole thing)? He was easily my number one JLU figure request, yet because Target messed things up, I don’t have one. This unfortunately still gives Mattel a black eye (even if undeserved). Here’s hoping you can talk Target into getting it back into stores. It’s not like they are smart enough to do it themselves.

A: This is something we are working with Target on and hope to increase shipments throughout the year.  Everyone needs a Grodd!
