Tonight at 8:39 PM there was a magnitude 5.0 earquake centered about 1.5 miles from my house.
My collection did not fare well. It was the FIRST things to start tumbling.

I’m sure this will also be the scene in my office in the morning to stay tuned for part 2 tomorrow.

nothing fell at my place but i live in silverlake
i am still waiting for the day when it all comes crashing down
but hay look at it this way it gives you a chance to do a new setup
Aw, man… I see one of your Luthors lost a leg, hope the rest of the damage was minimal.
And even though I have logical arguments like the job market and cost of living, the safety of my action figures and statues is the real reason I say no when my girlfriend mentions wanting to move to California.
Man, first and foremost, I hope you and your GF, daughter and family are safe and sound.
Second, OH THE HUMANITY…!!!
Yeah isn’t your JLUs at work? I’d imagine they’re all on the floor.
Ouch – glad you’re safe. But sorry about the mess. What a pain.
Oooh, that’s rough, but glad you weren’t hurt.
I display my 25th anniversary Joes on a window ledge above my JLU display, and when we opened the windows for the first time in the spring a massive thunderstorm forced the Joes to take out the entire Justice League. It was a total mess – but not as bad as your pics – my sympathies!
So how was the office setup?!?
The office set up was surprisingly OK. The only JLU figure to fall over was John Stewart Green Lantern and the only figure that fell was my Junn Planning Jack Skellington. I would have thought there would be equal carnage at work as there was at home, but home was much closer to the center of the quake.

First of all, glad to hear you and your relatives are ok.
About the figures, I see some of the figures seem to have missed a limb. Hope it can be fixed, (specially that SP Parademon arm, but that’s only my innate preference for Super Powers toys).
Funny enough, in times of ‘crisis’ some new abilities emerge. In my case I had never dared to crack-open a figure body until a Toy Biz Avengers’ Scarlet Witch felt down and lost a leg. Needed 3 hours of hip surgery operation, half of the time figuring out how to crack the body open, and more than 30 minutes finding out how to fix it. And I did, and actually the result is so good you would not notice.
If you think that us, crazy customers, may be of any help, post images of the broken parts and for sure we will find solutions.
P.S. Now that I think, I have a DC Direct Antimonitor waiting for the same hip surgery. Mmmm… should schedule it one of these days.
My condolences, This is every Californian collector’s greatest fear realized! I share your pain brother. I bet the Kenner figures don’t have more then a some paint scratching, but I’m sure the Mattel and DC Direct stuff are probably all banged up. Reminds me of 94 when so much shit was broken and shattered, but even when the TV landed on my Star Trek Bridge playset that thing still did not break! It came apart, but other then some stress marks on the plastic connecting bits, the playset had no broken parts. These days We pay twice as much for the same toys, but only get half the quality we did as children.
I was afraid something like this might happen to fellow area collectors. Lucky thing you guys are safe, but sorry to see this mess. I really felt that quake rumble through and we’re all still jittery over here. There’s still a 50% chance of an aftershock according to some sources.
My stuff is displayed on two large acrylic wall cases, but the Super Powers one crashed down by itself one time, so in Cali you never really know.
Half of my DC Direct figures fall down on a regular basis and I don’t live anywhere near a fault line. Welcome to my world, Marx!
Grrrr…. 4.1 aftershock. MORE stuff fell. Sounds like a few of my custom Super Powers fell and broke.
Hey Daniel!
Let me know if you need me to fix any of the Super Powers customs. Free of charge of course.:)
Whatever happened to that wire and pulley system that was suggested a few years back on the DCD board? Sure, a collection like yours might end up looking like a giant spider web but everything would still be standing. Just a thought.
Deepest condolences. Try to have fun rearranging them.
