Mattel Announces Contest Win a Signed MOTUC Fisto™ Figure
January 27, 2014

Today on both their Facebook page and the site Mattel announced a new contest for the highly sought-after MOTUC Fisto figure:

What’s a whole lot better than a knuckle sandwich? How about getting your hands on a highly popular Fisto™ figure! Send us your best shot of your Masters of the Universe® toy collection and you could be one of four lucky winners. Here’s how…

Our line is entering its sixth year, and we want to see how impressive your collection has become. Show us how creative you are at displaying your figures. Who has the prime spot front and center? Who’s conspiring in the back? Who’s in your army? (You do have an army, right?) We’re looking for originality, enthusiasm, and that true collector spirit.

This highly popular figure sold out faster than you can say “five fierce fingers” when it was released in February 2012 and has not been available since. But, we convinced our marketing and design departments to part with four figures from their own personal collections, and we’ll award them to the most deserving fans based on the entries we receive. These figures are new, still in the box, and signed by our own Toy Guru Scott Neitlich and the figure’s designer Terence Higuchi.

Make sure you read ALL the rules (click here to get the forms you need) and submit them to us with your photo as a JPG. We’ll select the winners and announce them at the New York Toy Fair and on on or before February 17, 2014. The winning photos will be also posted (#FistoContest) for enhanced glory and bragging rights.

  • Please read the rules carefully before submitting your entry!
  • Images must be of your Masters of the Universe® collection ONLY. Images that contain a person or another company’s brands or products are ineligible, and will be excluded from the Contest.
  • You MUST include both the image and the Entry Form saved as a separate file and you MUST check the entry authorization box on the Entry Form.
  • If your Entry Form isn’t completely filled out and submitted properly, your entry is ineligible.

The contest runs from 1/27 at 9 a.m. PT through 2/6 at 11:59 p.m. PT and we’ll post select photos on Facebook and in our Fan Forums throughout the entry period.

Daniel Pickett
Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on,,, Boing-Boing,, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
