Mattel’s MOTUC Mosqitor – Evil Energy-Draining Insectoid
December 16, 2012

There’s something bugging the residents of Eternia™… unfortunately, it’s an insane insect! This voracious vampire feasts on energy, draining every drop of life from his unfortunate victims. Mosquitor™ pays homage to the vintage figure with a unique non-removable three-layer chest plate that recreates the look of a red blood-filled chest. He arrives with his vintage blaster and an unquenchable thirst.

At long last Mosquitor, the Evil Energy-Draining Insectoid comes to collector’s shelves as the  Club Eternia figure for  December 2012.   The orginal Mosquitor had an action feature whereby you pushed a button on his back and you could see blood coursing through his chest.  Masters Classics does not have action features so they came up with a clever work around with the three layer piece. Mosquitor helps fill out the ranks of our Horde troops.  And at long last we have a figure to pit against our Mighty Specter figures.

Mosqitor has several new pieces including his head, over piece, boots and feet.  He also shares some parts we have seen before such as Webstor’s extra legs/mandibles.  The only thing I think he’s missing is an alternate over piece for his chest that looks like a black sports coat to better match Pixel-Dan’s Mosquitor costume. :-)

Mosquitor will be available 12/17 on MattyCollector.com.

Mosquitor™ Bio

Real Name: Bliddeon Black

A Kribleen insectoid vampire from the Gluubux Galaxy, Mosquitor™ joined The Evil Horde™ on his own accord, preferring the Empire to life in a mud hole on his home world. Looking like a normal insectoid, Mosquitor™ moves in on his prey, then stings them hard and sucks them dry. He is extremely vicious though not particularly brainy. You can’t get blood from a rock, but Mosquitor™ has tried in his day. Mosquitor™ drains his enemies of their energy while his bionic stinger and chest oozes red with power. Even Hordak® keeps his distance from The Evil Horde™ vampire!

Daniel Pickett
Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website www.ActionFigureInsider.com. Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on MSNBC.com, Wired.com, Fark.com, Boing-Boing, Gizmodo.com, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
