Mattel’s SDCC 2011 Exclusives – Full Line-Up!
April 29, 2011

Mattel has another full slate of exclusives for Comic Con 2011.  There were several of these revealed today on G4’s ‘Attack of the Show’ but that was only about half the story. We have the full line up here with clear large pictures and full descriptions.

There are a lot of great things in the line up this year, really something for everyone.   We have our first Young Justice figure, and he comes with a light up set piece.  With this cloning chamber and the build-a-Hall of Justice facade we know is coming with the first waves Young Justice is already shaping up to be a line to watch.

DC fans should be excited to get our first Swamp Thing figure in over a decade.  Swamp Thing was one of the original figures from DC Direct at their launch and was never reissued and commands a hefty price on the secondary market.   Swamp Thing also features some new technology as he is the first figure with an endoskeleton.  I know some fans are already concerned that he will be similar in design to the DCSH Clayface figure with a bendy wire under a foam rubber.  I understand that this is actually different technology that is more akin to what Art Asylum did with their Star Trek Enterprise figures back in the day.  I’ll be curious to check this out.

I’ll be honest I never thought we’d get a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man in our Ghostbusters Movie Masters line.  Imagine my surprise when I found out that not only are we getting one, but he’ll also exceed any expectation I had of his scale.

Take a gander at the line up below and let us know if you have any additional questions about these exclusives here on our AFi boards.

Daniel Pickett
Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on,,, Boing-Boing,, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
