MattyCollector.com Announces Shipping Delay for the #Thundercats #LionO Action Figure
September 2, 2016

The rudderless MattyCollector.com continues to add insult to injury.  Subscribers to the already-canceled-before-the-first-figure-ships “Club Third Earth” received the following email today:

Lion-O™ will be delayed

ThunderCats™ Ho! Welcome Club Third Earth subscribers. We’re very excited about the new ThunderCats™ lineup! Your first subscription figure is coming later this month, and we want to make sure you receive every shipment.

If your shipping address, email address or billing information has changed since you signed up for your 2016 ThunderCats subscription, please call Customer Service at 1-877-GO-MATTY no later than September 11th, 2016 to update your information.

Due to unforeseen shipping circumstances beyond our control, the first subscription figure, Lion-O™, will be arriving just a little later than planned. (We blame it on the TSA – ThunderCats™ Security Administration.) But you won’t have to wait long… we expect Lion-O™ to start shipping at the end of September.

We’ll do everything in our power to get your order shipped as quickly as possible once Lion-O™ arrives!

If you have any questions or need help with something else, just give us a call at 877-GO-MATTY or email us at MattyCollector.CS@digitalriver.com

Thanks for being a MattyCollector.com customer!

To sum up, fans can expect their Lion-O figure… sometime… ?  At least we can take comfort that they are “very excited about the new ThunderCats™ lineup!“… that they will NEVER complete.

Daniel Pickett
Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website www.ActionFigureInsider.com. Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on MSNBC.com, Time.com, The Wall Street Journal, The Saturday Evening Post, CNN.com, AssociatedPress.com Wired.com, Fark.com, Boing-Boing, Gizmodo.com, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.

Some bashing of Mattel going on here. I love it!

  • Nick says:

I mean…should we even be surprised at this point? Mattel has squandered what little good faith they still had with me over this past year and I will never buy another of their products. I hope more collectors will follow suit.

  • Scott says:

Yeah I got this the other day.
So it’s definitely cancelled after Wave 1? I thoguht Super7 were in talks to take over the license like MOTU?

  • D says:

You guys are aware of the huge issue with container stuck out at sea I am assuming.

  • Brian Kent Andersen says:

And where are the new Halo toys from Mattel? Will it ever go Woldwide, or is this line already Dead?

  • demoncat_4 says:

and thus once again the curse of the thunder cats returning as toys strikes. plus mattel finishes proving it should just have not tried and aquired other licenses like thunder cats . hope super seven manages to get the thing away from mattel now. for thunder cats keep getting screwed.

  • Jeff Yoders says:

I really, really wish I could get the money I paid for Mattycollector subscriptions back. This entire year has been nothing but Mattel punching us collectors in the balls over and over.
