 Discover Life-Size Builds, Exclusive Giveaways & Loads of Building Fun at Booth #1906

MONTREAL and NEW YORK, Oct. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ – With New York Comic Con only a few hours away, Mega Bloks® is happy to reveal details about its exciting booth (#1906) at the Jacob Javitz Center this Comic Con weekend. From October 10th to the 13th, attendees can win awesome prizes, get free exclusive giveaways, take cool pictures with huge Mega Bloks builds and have loads of building fun, featuring Mega Bloks® Halo®, Mega Bloks® Skylanders™ and Mega Bloks® Hot Wheels™.

Sure to impress all walker-bys, will be the giant life sized Mega Bloks builds composed of over 1.5 million Mega Bloks combined! Fans will be welcomed to snap shots of themselves alongside the huge Mega Bloks Halo Promethean Knight, the Mega Bloks Hot Wheels Bone Shaker and the Mega Bloks Skylanders SWAP Force™ Wash Buckler build, making his world premiere at NYCC.

The event kicks off today with a “special signing” by Frank O’Connor, Franchise Development Director for the Halo franchise at 343 Industries and icon in the Mega Bloks and Halo communities. Fans will receive an exclusive NYCC Mega Bloks Halo poster, which they can have autographed directly at the booth. In addition, fans who visit on Saturday will have the chance to win a limited-edition Mega Bloks Halo t-shirt through a Twitter giveaway contest.

Build, launch & race with the Mega Bloks Hot Wheels line on Friday! Attendees will have the opportunity to race the Mega Bloks Hot Wheels Rip-Cord launchers to win an exclusive Mega Bloks Hot Wheels t-shirt. Builders will also receive a limited-edition Mega Bloks Team Hot Wheels micro-action figure giveaway.

On Family Day, Sunday October 13th, Mega Bloks will celebrate the launch of their brand new Mega Bloks Skylanders SWAP Force construction line based on the highly-anticipated video game. Daniel Pickett
Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice.
