NECA has been gradually trickling out the information on their 2008 Comic Con exclusives.  So far the have announced Exclusives based on Gears of War, Conan and their awesome TMNT line.   Check out the news and images below.

 

Carmine is Coming to San Diego

Summer is just around the corner, and with it, the height of convention season. From July 24 through July 27, one of the biggest events of the year hits the west coast: San Diego Comic Con! This year NECA will be unveiling some of our best Convention Exclusives yet, and for the next few weeks, they’ll be debuting every Friday at NECAonline! Up first is a highly requested fan favorite, coming on the heels of Gears of War Series 1: everyone’s favorite doomed member of Delta Squad, Anthony Carmine. The Gears of War Carmine San Diego Comic Con Exclusive 7" Action Figure comes with his standard Lancer weapon and the all-new Gnasher Shotgun! Take a look at the first official photos of Carmine

  

NECA Releases Images of Bronze Conan SDCC Exclusive
 

Today, NECAonlineConan the Barbarian Bronze Conan Action Figure. Striking the same iconic pose as the upcoming War Paint Conan Action Figure, Bronze Conan features a "bronzed" finish, as if the mighty Cimmerian himself had been preserved in the midst of battle. Available exclusively at Comic Con, the Bronze Conan will be the first Conan the Barbarian action figure release! The figure is articulated at the neck, wrists, boots, and waist, comes with Conan‘s trademark broadsword, and a unique display base, bearing the classic Conan the Barbarian logo. Please note: this is not a bronze statue, but a standard plastic action figure with paint applications and decoration to give the appearance of a bronze finish. We will be revealing more information, like availability and pricing, as San Diego Comic Con draws closer, but for now take a look at the first official image of the Bronze Conan Action Figure

 

 

 

A Comic Con Exclusive with Bite
NECA Releases Images of TMNT Mouser Comic Con Exclusive

 Today, NECAonline debuts the first images of the third San Diego Comic Con Exclusive: the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mouser 3-Pack! The Mousers, vicious robots with jaws strong enough to crush steel and concrete, are some of the Turtles deadliest and most popular enemies. The 3-Pack comes with a detailed display base, including an exclusive San Diego Manhole Cover! We’ll be unveiling more details, like packaging images and pricing, as Comic Con draws closer, but for now check out our first official images. 

 

 

Daniel Pickett
Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website www.ActionFigureInsider.com. Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on MSNBC.com, Wired.com, Fark.com, Boing-Boing, Gizmodo.com, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
