New Gentle Giant Ltd. Solicitations For Q1 2016
March 20, 2015

SIX new products are coming from the gang at Gentle Giant early next year from across the spectrum of their licenses.   We see some great new stuff in their Jumbo universe including a Star Wars 3-pack that gives fans another shot at some of the early releases.

Zam  Wessel Statue – $269

Zam Wessel is a shape shifting bounty hunter, who was subcontracted by the notorious bounty hunter/mercenary Jango Fett. Zam’s bounty was none other than Senator Padme Amidala, in Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones.

 ScreenHunter_01 Mar. 20 08.51

Zam’s first attempt on the Senator’s life was the destruction of her starship. Unfortunately for this changeling, the Senator evaded the explosion and was soon taken under the protection of the Jedi. To carry out the second attempt of her intended target, Zam has at her disposal the venomous Kouhun Worm.

As Padme was being guarded by Master Obi Wan Kenobi, and his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, Zam attempted a second time, only to be foiled by the Jedi, and captured. Before she had a chance to answer the Jedi’s questioning, she was eliminated by her employer, Jango Fett. As she cursed Jango with her last breath, her face reverted to it’s original Clawdite form.

Digitally sculpted by the master artisans at Gentle Giant Ltd., the Zam Wessel Statue features the changling assassin in her highly detailed costume holding her sniper rifle and container of Kouhun Worms. Zam also includes 2 interchangeable portraits, one humanoid portrait, and one Clawdite. Crafted using only the highest quality polystone, each limited-edition hand-painted statue comes individually numbered and is packed with a matching certificate of authenticity. May the Force be with you.

Kingpin Marvel Zombie Bust – $120

The Kingpin of crime, AKA Wilson Fisk, has been a major villain in the Marvel Universe for nearly 5 decades. Though he is not a super powered villain, what Fisk lacks in powers he makes up in intelligence and sheer brutality. Underneath his obese appearance is the musculature of an Olympic weight lifter, which he utilizes with horrifying results, during the rare occasion when he has to get his hands dirty.

In the Marvel Zombies series, the world has been infected by a virus that turns the living, into rotting corpses, who retain their intelligence and abilities. These creatures continue to spread the virus by biting their victims. In the 3rd Marvel Zombies book, the Kingpin finds a way to clone uninfected humans, creating a replenishable food source for the infected, and thus building a new empire.

Digitally sculpted by the master artisans at Gentle Giant Ltd., the Marvel Zombie Kingpin features the zombified Kingpin of Crime holding his signature walking stick, and enjoying a vintage, yet grotesque, glass of red. Crafted using only the highest quality polystone, each limited-edition hand-painted mini bust comes individually numbered and is packed with a matching certificate of authenticity.

Daniel Pickett
Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website www.ActionFigureInsider.com. Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s “Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on MSNBC.com, Time.com, The Wall Street Journal, The Saturday Evening Post, CNN.com, AssociatedPress.com Wired.com, Fark.com, Boing-Boing, Gizmodo.com, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows. But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
