The second round of FANtastic Exclusive will be ending at 11:59 P.M. this Sunday night. In round 1 it was once again the Four Horsemen’s popular property “The Seventh Kingdom” that took the first round of voting which decided which of their six lines would represent FANtastic Exclusive 2007.

Round 2 is gives fans the chance to decide which of eight specially selected Seventh Kingdom characters they would most like to see as an exclusive action figure in 2007.

As of right now there appears to be a very clear winner, but it is not too late to make your vote count. Keep in mind that it’s not only the winners that the Four Horsemen pay attention to in each round. We consider the totals of all of the rounds to be valuable information that could affect future elements of FANtastic Exclusive. In other words, every vote really does matter.

Playmates Toys Names New Vice President Of Strategic Alliances and Business Development

Licensing And Marketing Veteran Andre’ Lake Mayer To Oversee Expansion of Company’s Brand Portfolio

Lake Mayer also served as Director of Licensing for Lucasfilm, Ltd. where she directed the team that created and executed the long-term licensing and merchandising strategy for the Star Wars franchise and the highly anticipated release of Star Wars: Episode I. Mattel Completes Acquisition of Radica

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., October 3, 2006 -- Mattel, Inc. (NYSE:MAT) and Radica Games Limited (NASDAQ:RADA) announced that Mattel has completed the acquisition of Radica, the maker of electronic entertainment toys. Under the definitive agreement, Radica shareholders are entitled to receive $11.55 in cash for each share of Radica common stock, for total consideration of approximately $230 million. Radica’s common stock will cease to trade on the Nasdaq national market at the close of business today and will be delisted.

Computereshare, the paying agent for the amalgamation, will mail a letter of transmittal and instructions to holders of record of Radica’s common stock. The letter of transmittal and instructions will contain information on how to surrender shares of common stock in exchange
for the amalgamation consideration of $11.55 per share. Shareholders of record should be in receipt of the letter of transmittal before surrendering their shares. Shareholders who hold shares through a bank or broker will not have to take any action to have their shares converted into cash, as such conversions will be handled by the applicable bank or broker.

Last, we’ve got some not-so-good news to report… Although we’d originally planned to begin shipping of all of the Mynothecean Six (as well as other Store Horsemen merchandise) sets by mid-September, delays in shipping from the overseas factories have forced us to back up our shipment schedule by about a month.

We’ve just been told that our shipment is leaving the port in Hong Kong on Monday, so it looks like we’ll begin to get the final shipments of all of our product around the beginning of October. This means that (if all goes as planned) all of the Store Horsemen products will begin to ship around mid-October, and sooner if at all possible. We’d like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused any of you.

Shocker Toys Refocuses Indie Spotlight!

Buffalo NY- After some polling of indie comic fans and action figure collectors coupled with announcements made at San Diego Comic Con, Shocker Toys has done a reshuffling of its cards, as it were. The primary criticisms we received about Indie Spotlight Series 1 were that even thought the lineup was strong; all the characters chosen were already made in one form or another. Our counter argument was always “Yea, but were they really ACTION figures?” Now it seems some choices have been made for us, so we’ve gone back to our master list, listened to what people told us at SDCC, and come up with a new series 1!

So, without any further fanfare, Indie Spotlight series 1 will now feature Madman, Shadowhawk, Scud: The Disposable Assassin and Katchoo of Strangers in Paradise! Company head Geoff Becket remarked “It’s like fate is playing a bigger part in our operations as of late, but everything is working out for the best! We are all immensely happy with the new choices for Indie Spotlight Series 1 and feel they better represent the diverse nature of indie comics today.”

Fall Out Boy! The Golden Ticket?

SOTA Toys brings you Fall Out Boy dolls! This wildly popular band's latest album "From Under the Cork Tree" has been on the Billboard Top 200 chart for over a year. It peaked at #9, but has currently stayed on the chart for longer than 60 weeks. They are an MTV staple and sell out concerts throughout the world. The band wanted stylized dolls and working together with SOTA Toys designed these very cool figures based on the band's mini-movie MTV hit, "A Little Less Sixteen Candles, A Little More 'Touch Me'."

DIAMOND SELECT TOYS IS OUT FOR BLOOD, AGAIN!

Diamond Select Toys and Collectibles is exited to announce plans to participate in the annual Blood Drive at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con! To emphasize the importance of giving blood, Diamond Select will be donating 700 limited edition Buffy the Vampire Slayer Spike figures as giveaways for participating donors. Perhaps there is no better way to celebrate the kindness of giving blood than with the action-figure of a well known vampire!

Spike, who first appeared in the second season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer is one of the most loved and at times hated character from the cult shows. The figure of the famous blood sucker depicts him wearing his trademark leather jacket. The figure has been limited to 700 pieces, and will only be available through the blood drive – they will not be on sale or given away elsewhere.

In its 30th year, the Robert A. Heinlein Blood Drive has been a San Diego Comic-Con staple. After science-fiction writer Robert A. Heinlein was ill, he needed several pints of rare blood type. Following the illness, Heinlein created a personal rule that he would only attend conventions and sign autographs for those that donated blood. This started the Robert A. Heinlein Blood Drive at San Diego Comic-Con in the early 1970’s. Last year’s 596 pints was the most blood collected at the drive in ten years, thanks in part to Diamond Select Toys’ Spike giveaway.

Electric Tiki adds The Tick

Electric Tiki is proud to announce that it will be adding Ben Edlund's "The Tick" to it's ever growing Classic Heroes line-up. This particular version will be based on the original comics version and will be in scale with the rest of the Classic Heroes line (app 1/6th scale). Seen here is a concept sketch by Electric Tiki founder Tracy Mark Lee, but the final pose will be influenced by Edlund himself. JAKKS PACIFIC AND POKÉMON USA SIGN MASTER TOY DEAL FOR HUGELY POPULAR POKÉMON BRAND

Companies Jointly Announce the Expansive New License at Press Conference Before the Opening of Licensing 2006 International

Malibu, CA – June 20, 2006 – JAKKS Pacific, Inc. (Nasdaq: JAKK) and Pokémon USA, Inc. announced today that the two companies have signed a Master Toy licensing agreement under which JAKKS™ Pacific will develop, manufacture and distribute a diverse line of toys and related products based on the hugely popular Pokémon® brand. JAKKS Pacific and Pokémon USA will officially announce the agreement at a press conference at Pier 81 in New York City preceding the opening of the Licensing 2006 International Show.

Pokémon just announced that beginning this fall, the ninth season of the top-rated animated TV series, Pokemon: Battle Frontier, will air on Cartoon Network. Also, on June 3rd, episodes of Pokémon Chronicles launched during the Toonami block. A new direct-to-video title, the eighth Pokémon movie, Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, is set for release in September. In addition, Nintendo of America will launch new video games including Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team/Blue Rescue Team for the Nintendo DSTM (Blue) and Game Boy® Advance (Red) and Pokémon Ranger for the Nintendo DSTM.

Mattel Announces Superman Returns Exclusives

Mattel sent us the news of their upcomming Toys R Us "Superman Returns" exclusives. These exclusives leaked out early overseas ahead of the ad campaign that Mattel had planned for them. Some collectors were concerned that they would be exclusives only availble overseas. That is not the case.

"House of El" 2-pack TRU exclusive features Father and Son Jor-El and Kal-El together in Kryptoinan garb featuring the likeness of the late Marlon Brando and Brandon Routh. The approximate retail is $14.99 and hits shelves in October.

Another TRU exclusive that will hit shelves in August in the Jor-El Hologram Figure. The approximate retail on that is $9.99.

CORGI ON BOARD TO PRODUCE STAR TREK® 40th ANNIVERSARY COLLECTIBLES FOR AMERICAN MARKET

Line Will Include Replicas from the Original Series and Star Trek: The Next Generation

THE RED STAR™ AND WETA WORKSHOP IN GROUNDBREAKING DEAL

The internationally acclaimed graphic novel series THE RED STAR is leading the charge of innovation within the comics medium once again.

In a Hollywood effects cross-over first for the comics industry, Christian Gossett, creator of the series, his publishing entity Archangel Studios, and the world renowned Weta Workshop Design Team of New Zealand have announced that they will collaborate on the next RED STAR graphic novel, THE RED STAR: SWORD OF LIES.

“The work of Christian and the team at his Archangel Studio have been an inspiration for us since THE RED STAR first began” said multiple-Oscar® winner Richard Taylor, “So being invited to collaborate with Christian on such an amazing project has invigorated the guys, and the excitement of working on THE RED STAR will be a highlight of our year”.

"THE RED STAR: SWORD OF LIES" is the long awaited sequel to "PRISON OF SOULS," the most recent installment of the epic saga that has been translated into five languages and will soon reach its one-millionth unit sold worldwide. Famous for its state of the art computer generated imagery and sweeping cinematic storyline, THE RED STAR is in development as a feature film at Universal Pictures through Marc Platt Productions and Kickstart Comic Art Studios, with Russian phenom Timur Bekmambetov slated to direct. Gossett, who worked stints in the Weta design room and on set of Weta's latest academy award winning masterpiece, KING KONG, couldn’t contain his euphoria at the prospect. "This is a dream come true for me,” Gossett said. “In all of their works Richard Taylor's Weta Workshop has translated bold visions into stunning artistic realities. DIAMOND SELECT TOYS UNVEILS LATEST SAN DIEGO COMIC CON GUEST – BARBARA LUNA!

Diamond Select Toys & Collectibles, LLC (DST) has announced their latest celebrity guest for this summer’s San Diego Comic Con – Star Trek guest star BarBara Luna! Appearing on the original Star Trek series, Luna portrayed Lieutenant Marlena Moreau in the fan-favorite episode “Mirror, Mirror.”

Beginning July 19th and continuing through July 23rd, the 2006 San Diego Comic Con is held in San Diego, California and last year drew more than 100,000 attendees. Diamond Select Toys will feature BarBara Luna at their booth on Friday, July 21st from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The DST “Mirror, Mirror” Uhura, McCoy, Chekov and Sulu action figures will be offered for the first time during this convention, with a free autograph ticket (for use on Friday from 11:00 - 1:00) and a promotional Marlena Moreau action figure offered to fans who purchase all four exclusive figures. SOTA's San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Revealed!

Here are the first pictures of the San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Master Gouken action figures! (The previous pics were mock-ups.)

SOTA Toys and Toyrocket.com are joining forces to bring a new Street Fighter character to the world of super-articulated action figures, Ryu and Ken's Sensei, Master Gouken!

At San Diego Comic-Con 2006, SOTA Toys will offer the Exclusive Master Gouken with "Battle Cry" head and Toyrocket.com will offer the Exclusive Gouken with standard head. Both Master Gouken figures will come with the translucent "Shoryuken" accessory. The Gouken action figures stand in 7-inch scale with all of the SOTA Street Fighter action figures and feature over 30 points of articulation and the best sculpts available in an action figure.

Fans of Masters of the Universe have been waiting to hear news of whether the Masters of the Universe busts line is going to continue or not, and NECA and the Four Horsemen are responding with Eternia¹s Cosmic Enforcer, Zodak!

The Zodak bust will be approximately nine inches tall and the prototype of the bust will be on display at NECA¹s booth at the San Diego Comic Con from July 19th through July 23rd.
