Great job! Well…good job. Now how long until the full release that actually hits distributors. However, please give us the actual release date, and not your estimate that is usually waaaaaaay under what actually happens. If you don’t know, please just say you don’t know.
It will hurt your reputation less to say you don’t know, rather than miss another self imposed deadline.

Again, congrats on making a line of action figures.

What exactly has been released “on time” with Indie Spotlight series 1?

And while we’re asking questions you can’t answer, what are you doing to refund the money to the fans of GWAR who pre-ordered the figs? I know for certain there are still people waiting to get their money back from you.

From what I’ve seen these figures look great. I hope they do make it into stores such as Toys R Us so they get the chance they deserve and the masses can appreciate them. I really can’t wait for Wave 2.

The only thing that can redeem Geoff and his company in my eyes is a huge public apology and a complete 180 deg turn in attitude. Anyone can make mistakes and everyone should have the chance to be forgiven if they realize them.

However simply not hearing from Geoff and his absence from the forums in which he so regularly trolled isn’t enough. He acted that way in public so he should apologize in the same manner.

These figures can be excellent, they might even be spectacular and Shocker could be on their way to becoming the next Hasbro for all we know. But tho we collectors never forget…we do forgive.

Hey! Hellpop, I do have the 2000 A.D. DREDD figuer it’s THE only TRUE DREDD figure we Dreddheads have ever gotton, Unfortunately that was nearly a DECADE ago! I would REALLY love to get a NEW one with better comic accurate sculpt & 30 points of articulation!;) And as far as I know the 2000 ad line never had DREDDS LAWMASTER!

To be honest, the only reason I want this series to succed is so they might make a proper JUDGE DREDD FIGURE! reuseing a LONG-SHOT body and just makeing a new head, hands & boots, is pretty lame.

I remember when these were originally suppose to come out in Dec 2008! But for tooling or whatever reason they got delayed.
The pictures of the “final” figures all look great to me, and because I haven’t really been following the Geoff saga I could care less if he’s rubbed people the wrong way. I mean, he’s been attacked constantly left and right for showing roughs and protos that normally other companies hide. So I won’t blame him. Plus, I met him at SDCC 08 and I thought he was a pretty nice and definately passionate about what he’s doing. So here’s to hoping these come out soon and turn out amazing.

Pariah, my memory may be faulty on that date, I know he told me one date for exclusives, and another (later) one for the regular line.

What is different about them this time is that the actual product isn’t total crap. I can’t vouch for anything else, but I’m also not going to deny that the product I saw is much better than the protos.

I do wonder if these will sell at all even if they make it to stores. 4 years ago they would have been a decent bet, but in today’s market it’s a real hard sell.

Shocker Toys has a link to their website on youbentmywookie.com. The banner clearly states “SHIPPING NOW.” If the toys are not in Geoff Beckett’s hands currently, this is clearly a deceptive and false bit of advertising to lure the ignorant into paying for items that will not ship until a later date… if at all.

So the NYCC “exclusives” that were going to be out on March 2nd, have now been pushed back to late March/Early April? I believe you had to sign a piece of paper for your pre-order that claimed it would be shipped March 2nd, what happened now? How can they call these NYCC exclusives when they weren’t available at the con, and can be purchased by anyone. Not only that but they had other merch for sale that were “exclusives” at previous cons. Now the shipping date for the exclusives as well as the main line has been pushed back AGAIN?

So, what exactly is it that is different about Shocker Toys this time?

And yes, since Geoff threatened me, I enjoy his failures.

$30 for translucent versions of the characters? Seriously?

I suppose if you really want these toys you might as well buy the translucent ones and paint them because that’s probably as close as you’ll ever get to the final product.

I’d like to have a few of these toys, but I have no idea how anyone can take anything these guys say with a grain of salt.

I’m not necessarily rooting for Shocker. I’m just not rooting against him. I’m pretty much neutral at this point. I do think it would be a shame for some of these characters to not get their one shot at toy shelves. Because Shocker probably is their only shot to get made.

I also forgot to mention that Geoff said that all creators are getting a licensing fee and royalties (I think he said 15%). According to him, Terry Moore misspoke or meant something else. I do find it hard to believe that anyone (let alone MTV, which controls the Maxx) would give away a license for free.

Nice writeup, Otter. I too am (more or less) rooting for Shocker, because I want to see these toys on shelves. It really is inexcusable that they have taken so long to get these made and released. I mean, how do you not even have the NYCC exclusive ready for NYCC? But I take no delight in their failure, unlike some people around the net.
