Pop Culture Shock Collectibles Launches 1:4th Scale Statue of Mortal Kombat’s Big Bad: Shao Kahn

LOS ANGELES, January 17, 2013 (BUSINESS WIRE)—Pop Culture Shock Collectibles is proud to announce it’s latest entry into the 1/4 scale mixed media statue of characters from Mortal Kombat; Shao Kahn. The Emperor of the Outworld is brought to life with all of the incredible detailing PCSC is known for.

“There is something very satisfying about grinding away at a game and then finally getting to the big boss character,” stated Jerry Macaluso, President and Founder of Pop Culture Shock Collectibles. “Everyone loves a hero, but for me, it’s always more fun to work on a villain.”

The hi-end Polystone statue is depicted in the epic 1:4 scale, standing an enormous 19.5″ inches tall with a price of  $350 USD, strictly limited to 350 pcs. Also included is a switch-out unmasked head and a signed certificate of authenticity.

There is also a bonus “Konqueror Edition” which features a savage spear accessory and carries a price of $360 USD and is limited to 150pcs. Both items are only available via PSCS’ new Direct-to-Collector business model.

Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since. In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features. He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced. In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website www.ActionFigureInsider.com. Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field.
