Pre-TF2012: World of Warcraft from Mega Bloks
February 9, 2012

Mega Bloks is going to be releasing construction sets based upon Blizzard Entertainment’s hugely successful World of Warcraft MMO game. I’ve covered this before in my blog here at AFi, so it should be no surprise that I’m really looking forward to this line. Let me be clear. I’m REALLY excited about this line!

I’m really not into construction toys. I’m not a Lego guy. Even though I’m a big fan of the Halo franchise, I haven’t picked up the Halo stuff from Mega Bloks. But, I did get the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman from Mega Bloks’ Pirates of the Caribbean line a few years back. They’re spectacular! I

But, from the moment I heard that Mega Bloks got the World of Warcraft and Starcraft licenses, I just can’t stop thinking about them! It’s fanboy obssession at its best, I suppose. I ended up going to eBay and getting the Blizzcon exclusive Shaman Thrall mini-figure, which is really, really cool. Right now this may well be the line I’m most looking to hearing about from Toy Fair. That’s not to say I’m not excited about other lines (hence this series of Pre-Toy Fair blogs I’ve been writing. Collect ’em all!), but I’m just dying to know what Mega’s plans are, what sets are planned, what figures and characters are included. Y’know the drill.

Product isn’t expected to hit stores until Summer. I hope that’s early summer. Really early summer. I just can’t wait to enter a miniaturized World of Warcraft!

Toy Fair is almost here. While it officially starts on Sunday, Hasbro’s kicking things off on Saturday. So there’s not much longer to wait for all the news to start pouring in from the Big Show. I’ve got one more Pre-Toy Fair blog entry that will get posted tomorrow, and then it’s Toy Fair time!
